I predicted that this would happen as:
1) more are tested and
2) the Virus spreads. We need to look at the infection rate as the death rate is only the peak of the data indicating how far the virus has spread.
Correct, and we can expect more deaths. However, thanks to the decisive action President Trump took early on, the U.S. will come out ahead and on-top of Europe for impact of COVID-19, meaning per capita deaths among Americans will always be a fraction of the worst-hit countries. For whatever reason, the Eye of Providence has chosen to elevate us above the other great nations and is using Donald Trump as His implement to do so.

Sadly, we have not peaked yet. Look at the rate in New York, in particular. Los Angelas and New Orleans are also on the rise.
Yes, unfortunately some states with Democrat governors are so incompetently run that even President Trump's decisive action was not enough to save them. In Louisiana, for instance, the decision of the Rat Governor and Rat Mayor to allow Mardi Gras to go ahead turned it into the #2 epicenter after liberal New York. Even the lying
New York Times agrees that "The greatest free party in the world was a perfect incubator at the perfect time."
President Trump could have declared martial law in Louisiana and taken over the government - but that would have been the boat that launched a thousand lawsuits from the seditious Rats. When you're dealing with Rats it's always a case of
Damned if you Do, Damned if you Don't. And so the voters of southern Louisiana must now reap what they've sowed and live and die with the consequences of the government they chose. New Orleans made its choice.
