The trick is to start 2 player games and wait for noobs to join. (I know, I'm a noob too) That way you get to move first and that's a big advantage.

I think he means start open freestyle games. I did that, I always ended the first turn first, then i would wait for my opponent to leave.

I've completed one and got one active. I won the completed one and I will win the second one as soon as this player's mummy lets him back on the computer.

I haven't had a bad experience with deadbeaters in 1v1 yet, so I think that until I do, I'll restrict my play to almost all 1v1 matches.

haha, theres no such thing as a bad experience with deadbeats in 1v1! If you miss a turn or two early your game is over, so having players miss turns gives you free points.

Im 1-

I had my first deadbeat and the current one that Im going to lose is because of horrible dice and the guy who went first put me at a disadvantage.

ok a 2 player game i just started. the beginning read like this.

2007-06-10 08:52:19 - Game has been initialized
2007-06-10 08:52:33 - alex_white101 receives 2 armies for holding Oceania
2007-06-10 08:52:33 - alex_white101 receives 4 armies for 14 territories

that kinda ruined the game.........

That's not as good as the start my opponent had in King of the Mountain today. Not only did he get to have his turn first, he started off with four of the five possible Kings, giving him 4 bonus armies, and total control of yellow mountain, giving him 2.

I'm not a computer programmer (or anything to do with computers full stop), so please excuse me if this sounds totally unrealistic or nonsensical, but is it possible to write an if code into the program that doesn't allow any player in a 1v1 game to start off with a bonus?

Oh and I'm 3-1 now :)

And yes, deadbeaters in 2 player games is a plus for the points factor, but annoying for the waiting (because I'm so darn impatient!). Please don't suggest I get premium, because I'm a tight bottom and am also trying to restrict my addiction to four games at a time
