They put Civ I and IV in the same box set?
Does Civ 1 even work on modern computers? My laptop doesn't have a floppy disc drive =(

I'm an idiot though and ordered it today online so it won't be coming for a few days.

yeah it was a special edition - there was a card game too. Obviously the original was on a modern disc. There's interviews with Meier and other developers too - an interesting package. Personally I play (it's a while since I did) version 1 or version 4.

Haha you play 1 though?
Honestly, II was my favorite...and it's on this laptop right now. I made sure to install it after I put Windows 7 on. I was too young to understand 1 when it first came out...I'd always die before I could build a third city. But I played the Hell out of II.
Army of GOD wrote:It really took me a while to pick up the game, because I was just too young to understand it. I had no idea that the "shields" were production and the grain was food. I just bought everything I could. I'd play on the easiest setting too, so when I'd win I'd be like "OMG IM TEH BEZT!"
Then I finally remember increasing the difficulty and getting better. I even tried making a LoTR map...
