On a related note, I ordered both Civ and Fable 3 from Wal-Mart, and got a Amercias map pack as a bonus for Civ and a 20 dollar gift card to Wal-Mart for Fable.

f*ck YEA!

If your PC is worse then an Xbox I feel sorry for you.

Just spent the last half hour watching trailers. The game looks good, although less PC oriented then I would like....

It's a laptop, can't play CC freestyle speed games it is so laggy. Would hate to see what a game like Civilisation would do to it. Stick to playing computer games on the PS3 and Wii.

Holy f*ck YEAH!!!

Civ 5? I'm going to build a computer for it. Looking to buy something with these specs: 8GB ram, quad core 2.8 intel core i7, Radeon 5770 4GB ram, 1 TB hard drive, windows 7

I heard that could be done for about $500-$600, maybe a bit more but not much. I'm just excited. I'll be BigBallinStalin some dirty mothers in those civ5 games

Sadly it'll probably be awhile before they port it to Mac, guess I'll just have to keep playing Civ 4.

They put Civ I and IV in the same box set?

Does Civ 1 even work on modern computers? My laptop doesn't have a floppy disc drive =(

yeah it was a special edition - there was a card game too. Obviously the original was on a modern disc. There's interviews with Meier and other developers too - an interesting package. Personally I play (it's a while since I did) version 1 or version 4.

Haha you play 1 though?

Honestly, II was my favorite...and it's on this laptop right now. I made sure to install it after I put Windows 7 on. I was too young to understand 1 when it first came out...I'd always die before I could build a third city. But I played the Hell out of II.

I remember in civ 2 having about 2 cities, and Japan walks over and says, "WE have nuclear missiles, pay us or get fucked." I only had spearmen, but I told them to bring it... and they did. And that was that.

I beat civ 2 somehow by taking everyone's cities. I've no idea how I did that and could never repeat it. I had financial problems like no other, losing military units every time.

It really took me a while to pick up the game, because I was just too young to understand it. I had no idea that the "shields" were production and the grain was food. I just bought everything I could. I'd play on the easiest setting too, so when I'd win I'd be like "OMG IM TEH BEZT!"

Then I finally remember increasing the difficulty and getting better. I even tried making a LoTR map...

It's fun to learn, fun to economize and make one's civ more efficient and productive.

If I've got time, I'd be down for a civ4 game. 1v1, or something larger with AI is fine. There's also that play be email option, but that seems like a hassle...

Come to think of it, the reason why I stopped playing civ4 was that it wasn't challenging. I had this set way that's unstoppable. The only way I'd lose if one were to play on a HUGE map, on islands, and go for a culture win, so by the time I could even build the boats to reach them, they'd already win. In short, cultural win is for pussies.

Haha, I could do some civ4 consulting. Show me a save game, and I'll give you a plan to get back on your feet, and then greatly increase your chances of winning the game.

I'm going to kill myself.

So, I start today, and the Russians are pissing me off, so I go to war with them and I literally shove my penis up Catherine's anus. Then I destroy two City-States and pretty much own my entire continent (granted, it's on Chieftain because I didn't want to start off too hard) and then I go over to another continent, meet a bunch of people.

AND THEN BAM. CIVILIZATION CRASHES AND I DIDNT SAVE. 3 HOURS WORTH OF SHIT ALL DOWN THE FUCKING TUBE.

I hate my life.
