All the British media were crowning Peter Cech with this title. So I hope VanDeSar will do equally well as Cech against turks...
Seriously speaking, Holland has no player like Torres who could on his own outrun Russian defence. It will all boil down to which wingers will do a better job. With Robben and Van Persie being a fair match against Zyryanov and Bilyaletdinov, it will be very close...
Read my prediction for semis slightly above. So far I am getting everything right, which makes no hope for orangmen

Well Hiddink is a very good coach, but so is van Basten.
I think Holland should try to make less mistakes than in their previous games (playing against france showed how the team made some huge mistakes) and they'll do just fine. Van de Sar being the best keeper in the history of fucking history ever will make sure the odd chances the russians get won't be turned into goals, but he's no magician (at least I think so) so he needs a better defense.
Though one should never disregard the utter incompetence of the opposition. Just look at that time Henry went past the defense and had a clear shot but fucking shot the ball over. I mean, a player like him with a chance like that should have resulted into a goal but it didn't!?!? Wtf was that all about?

Ruben, how are you gong to cope without Pirlo(even though he has not played particularly well) and Gattuso against Spain.

Lets face it teh Italians were lucky to win the World Cup, with an easy passage and alot of refferre descions helping them to the final......

Not so fast. They have to beat Russia first and then the winner of Italy/Spain before even reaching the final.
Both games will be very tough.

Typical biased opinion of a person who hates Italy. We have grown accustomed to your comments in this forum now hulmey. Haha. One doesn't win a World Cup with luck but with skill and teamplay. You're totally biased man.
I can only imagine how much you would be angry if we also won the Euro hulmey! I bet you wouldn't sleep at night.
And anyway we are always better than your England any day.

Wow do you think that was beyond luck? I realise that it was the first time for Australia to pass the group stage in a major competition so it must have been a big disappointment to see their team lose but honestly we hit the post twice in that game and I think we deserved the victory even though the penalty was a bit dubious. I have seen much less deserved victories than that one. Also it's strange how people only remember this stuff. No one mentions the 2002 world cup when Italy (as well as Spain) were thrown out of the cup by the referees who shamelessly helped Korea reach the semi final because they were the host nation or the 2004 Euro match fixing between Denmark and Sweden. Anyway back on topic: Euro 2008.
You want to know what is beyond luck? For example tonight's Turkish victory. That is what I call beyond luck. A team that has won the last three matches with goals at the 92nd minute without deserving to win any of them.

Italy isn't playing as good as they used to, though they still pose a threat yes.
Russia is a dangerous team with a strong attack and mediocre defense. The game tomorrow is basically between two teams with the same strenghts.
Holland has been the suprise of the tournament though. At least I expected Russia to play better due to Hiddink, who can make any team a good team. (not a winner, but just a good team.)

I'm hoping Italy start playing better from now onwards as they usually peak in the 2nd stage of these type of competitions, although Spain are a great team and anything can happen in that match.
Holland have shown the best football so far, but so had Portugal. Anything can happen at this stage of the competition. Hiddink is indeed a great coach. Where will he be going to after the Euro?

I actually converted around page 198. Unfortunately, I converted to satanism.
