No, Waterloo is more complex than Bamboo Jack, by far.

I havent played Jack, but i didnt think Waterloo was that hard. Ive played it twice- im 1-1

i think all maps are EASY to understand but COMPLEX to master.

a game on waterloo versus weak opponents is a walk in the park while a doodle earth game versus skilled ones can be harder then brain surgery.

actually there is under certain conditions.
for example 8p no cards assassin sequential adjacent fog vs players that know how to play. very interesting setup.

interesting maybe but theres no skill involved and hardly enough room to egt a card without killing some1

why get a card if the game is no cards???

trust me it is very very complex especially if there is chat because you are trying to guess each person's target. it's not a very spectacular game as the attacks will be very rare but it is complex enough to ensure that even the slightest mistake will be punished.

Even if there are cards - then that's part of the game...

Taking a card without weakening your opponent for someone to be able to kill them.

card add an unwanted luck factor in doodle games. get a mixed set from the first 3 cards and you win ;)

Have to agree with you optimus. half of the new maps are just to over complicated. new worlds and texan wars are the only ones i see me playing. The new maps have their place but i cant see them becoming popular as they are just to complicated to play give me a doodle earth any day of the week. :geek:

I definitley like the classic style, but mixing it up a bit is always good for me. I like come complication, but when you start needing a PhD to figure stuff out, I mark that map off my list.

Straightforward all the way (with the exception of Dustbowl, which is just pretty as hell). The map legend should list nothing more than bonuses and impassable obstacles (IMHO).

Love New Worlds and i tried qwert's new map and its complex, but once you get the hang of it :shock:

I like unique maps for what its worth. And maps that don't rely too much on lucky dice (read as "Not Doodle Earth"). I like complexity but not necessarily abstract complexity (railroad maps for example just feel too abstract for me and boring - i like a little pretty). And waterloo is definitely more complex than bamboo jack. I love bamboo (and i'm damned good at it) but in essence it just a very detailed classic map.
