Was there a rule change on Bootee's from Doubles games?

In one of my games (1093921), an opponent missed three turns in a row and was booted. When that has happened before, the armies turned neutral and the cards were dropped from the game.

However in this game, the armies turned from yellow to blue and the bootee's partner got his cards. When did that change?? Because it doesn't seem fair

When a player is auto-kicked in a team game, the first surviving teammate inherits the armies and cards.
