so i had this great idea for a tourney...it's a little complicated, but bear with me
-first things first: all games will be sequential, escalating, and unlimited (no fog of war)
-32 people: 8 brackets of 4 people each, each one starts on the specified map...3 rounds, then a final (which works slightly differently)
-here's where it gets interesting: each round will consist of 3 doubles games (same map for the whole round) where a different person in ur bracket will be ur partner in each game...the 2 individuals who do the best will move on to the next round
-it will all be one game at a time, so non-premium members are encouraged to join
-u'll get 48 hours to join from when I send out the PM with ur game # and password...seeing as this format is somewhat complicated, please join in the order u r asked to join in...please keep it all honest
-tiebreakers (which are quite possible) will be determined as follows:
1) if a player has ever been eliminated in a game they won, that player loses the tiebreaker (unless all tied players have)
2) whoever controlled the most territory in the game where the TIED PLAYERS WERE PARTNERS...in case of a 3 way tie, each pair will be looked at individually, then together (if it's still tied)
- this is where strategy/sabatoge/betrayal could come in handy; if u outnumber ur opponents by enough, u could start attacking ur partner...so also be careful how much u fortify each other
-the top player in each bracket will choose which map they want in the next round (of the available options)...the other players will be placed semi-randomly in the remaining spots (avoiding players in previous brackets)
to avoid any further confusion...it's an individuals tournament, but u need to work with together with ur opponents to win...u can also attack ur partners to gain an overall advantage if ur enemy is severely weakened
Due to the lack of interest in the Battle of Actium (I don't blame anyone for that...that map's insanely comlicated)...it has now been replaced with D-Day Omaha Beach
If anyone would like to change, let me know...either on the forum or by PM
