The SoC Training Academy and its Training Grounds provide basic training for new and old members looking to enhance their game strategy. "Train a Cook today, lose to a Sergeant tomorrow"
Some quick tips: 1) your main focus is spending every turn attacking your target; don't worry about bonuses (especially on small maps) 2) if you can't hit your target, focus on getting cards or on getting bonuses (only on large maps) 3) don't burn yourself out attacking and make yourself an easy target 4) if somebody blocks you with a stack, use diplomacy 5) if somebody gets too big, attack that player, especially near their target (to make it harder for them to win)
You’ve written nice post, I am gonna bookmark this page, thanks for info. I actually appreciate your own position and I will be sure to come back here. Thanks. mapquest driving directions
a) if it's a Manual troop deployment game, exa mine initial deployment to try to figure out which target everyone has
b) pay close attention to anyone that looks close to extinction, and consider blocking or otherwise defending them if it would mean preventing their "assassin" from taking them out
c) to help make sure you're not the target that gets eliminated thereby ending the game, try to maintain a few "islands" or separate locations, i.e. you want to have territories in multiple areas that are not connected, in order to make it more difficult for your "assassin" to be able to go on a tear and run through you all at once; sometimes having just one army in a really isolated spot, or behind someone else's big stack (or a big neutral on some maps) can make you nearly unkillable
Stealth is key: Use cover, shadows, and sound to your advantage to avoid being seen or heard.
Patience is a virtue: Don't rush your attacks. Take your time to line up your shots and make sure you can get away clean.
Adapt to your surroundings: Things don't always go according to plan, so be prepared to change your strategy on the fly.
Use the environment to your advantage: The environment can be your best friend or your worst enemy. Use it to ambush your targets and escape undetected.
Have fun!: Assassin is a game, so enjoy yourself. Try different strategies and experiment with different weapons and abilities.
