Adding time after the bug does not help

Well the bug has been fixed and time added, However that does not help the players who were unable to take their turn. If they could not take their turn because of the bug the next player will get 28 or more hours to take their turn. This seems unfair. I am in a tourney with a player who has now missed their turn in 5 games.
Would it not have been fairer to re-set the clock and all the games to the time the system went wrong?

Unfortunately that is not possible unless a backup was done on the games immediately before the bug occurred. We can only go back to the last backup. That would cause more problems than it solves.

Of course it doesn't help, it's just a futile symbolic gesture, like moments of silence, or taking a knee.
