[EoA] [UI] Advance None Button

Post by Telvannia »

MOD EDITED

Concise description:
  • Advance Zero armies button

Specifics/Details:
  • I want an advance 0 armies button! Generally speaking, you will for the most part advance all your armies or none at all. Why force players to pull down the menu and scroll up to zero, when this could be done with a single press? It will also save vital time in speed games.

How this will benefit the site and/or other comments:
  • Less time spent pulling down and scrolling through tedious menu's and more time killing opponents!
  • Improved mobile gaming interface.

Original OP wrote:basically what is in the topic name

i think a advance none button would be good rather than having to select 0 from the list then clinking on advance

thats a good idea, can we have an advance all but one army button also?
i like to keep 2 armies on all my territories sometimes and this would make it easier.

I like this AK iceman guy, he thinks the way I the stachewackers do. Our clans have more in common than a parodied avatar, my friend.

I would like an advance 4 button.

Sometimes I want to advance 4 so I can have 5 on the country I just took over but then I have to scroll to the 4 and it's just too much effort.

Have you ever been with a group of people and somebody makes a joke... And then another person makes the same joke and its not funny at all because everyone just heard it?

That's what just happened to 2dimes... :D

Do not Advance button

Post by Rynn »

I tried searching and I do not think this has been suggested before... sooo...

I think it would be great to have a DO NOT ADVANCE button after you conquer an area instead of having to scroll up to hit advance 0. This might just be because Im lazy, but I always thought it would be a great idea. Also, the coding for it would be simple, simply make 0 advance but have a button on its own. It would speed up the process of taking your turn a little bit faster, esp during real time games.

Whats everyone think?

It is a terrible idea ryan!!! Just joking, i like it. I just stick all my armies on one territory anyway and it is a pain to scroll all the way to 0. I think it would be a nice button to have. Maybe the button could be in a different place or maybe it could be shaped differently so people wouldnt click it by accident.

Add an "Advance 0 units" button

Post by Dr. Spankypants »

On some of the larger maps, it gets a bit tedious when you've got a large force and you're taking territories that you don't want to advance units into, to keep having to scroll up to 0 units.

How about adding an "Advance 0 Units" button to section where you select the number of units to advance.

It's already there. Look at the first number in the list, i.e. "0". The more buttons added, the more people complain about hitting them at inopportune times.

Move None button

Post by Rybal »

<-------------------->

<Subject>:

* Has anyone else ever had this happen? You try to select 0 to move into a new territory (because you don't need any more than that) and you accidentally move all because that is the default? Maybe it is just me

<Body>:

* Suggestion Idea: Add a "Move None" button next to the "Advance" button.
* Specifics: Self explanatory
* Why it is needed: See Subject
* Priority** (1-5): 2

It is just you. And to avoid making simple mistakes in gameplay (which we all do at one point or another), instead of adding more buttons to further confuse members, just slow down a little when taking your turn. :)
