In the good old year ago people actually gave their opinion and didn't spam
As someone who believes in the all-mighty market, I don't think Madmartigan's point is all that off-base. Nothing speaks as loudly about your preference like what you actually choose to do. Honestly, it's a much better barometer than trying to rank all 30 maps. I attend a lot of wine tastings and often times we try to determine the favorite of the lot. I look at two things, what everyone scored and which one was empty first after we went back and had some more after the official tasting. Frankly, I tend to take the second one more seriously.
Hell, I don't know my favorites from 20-30 because those are all maps that obviously don't enjoy much compared to the next and, thus, tend to avoid games on them. So, IMO, asking us to rank all the maps and then finding an average ranking is entirely random.
On the other hand, determining how often a map gets used is pretty spot on. Once again, it is driven by the market. If someone starts a game on a map I don't like, I don't join the game. Others will likely do the same. Yes, eventually, that person will get takers. Meanwhile, however, maybe a dozen or more have been filled on maps that people tend to enjoy more. Thus, the people speak through their actions, not through some arbitrary ranking where they decide which between two choices that they never make anyway, to they prefer.
Does this count as spam because I don't agree, not only with your rankings but also you manner in determining the favorite map?
