Deliberately trying to get the highest ranked player to win to lose less points is benefiting from throwing the game.

Does the same thing apply for tournaments?
Say you're in the final round of a 64 game tournament and to win you just need to make sure the 2nd place player doesn't win the final game.
If you throw that final game so the 2nd place player doesn't win does that mean you've broken the rule?
