OK so I had this idea. I didn't know if I should post this on the tournament section on here, so I chose here because I'm more familiar with this forum.
So the idea is to organize a tournament, which is kind of like whack-a-mod but instead of whacking mods, players get to play against the mapmakers on their own maps. So that each mapmaker would get to defend his glory on a map of his own making.
The concept would go like this:
First the preliminary games on each map, the winner (or 2-3 best) get to challenge the maker of that map 1v1. Mapmaker gets to choose settings.
I would need someone who has experience on tournament organizing, and some mapmakers who have some spare time to play a few tournament games.
This would be like a friendly tournament, where no single winner is necessarily chosen... But perhaps the results could be announced in the whack-a-mod style, eg. Players vs. Mapmakers 6-3 or something like that.

But if it's not 1v1, then the players would just ally against the mapmaker...
Or are you suggesting several mapmakers play against several players? But who would get to choose the map then?

No no no... just to gather as many mapmakers as we can who are interested in the concept, then have each choose their favorite of their own maps, and use that for the tournament...
