How dare you mention something positive about the United States...especially here on Conquer Club! The United States produces terrorism and poverty around the world. Its' economic policies ensure oppression to 3rd world countries. You need to wise up.

ITs been good oa bailing out Europe, keeping democracies going etc-not a bad record.
(WW1, WW2, Bosnia, Kosovo, getting rid of some mass murderers along the way)
So Uncle Sam aint all bad.
Plus, it props up half the worlds economy.

Farming is a stupid enterprise for america to base its economy off generally speaking, especially if you're going to say you burn it but supply the world aid (not that that has *anything* to do with the original point).
Send it to disaster zones for fucks sake. There are massive food mountains circulating around the west, while there are still people who can't eat in the LEDC's.

you must be joking. america has tons of resources
also, think about all the McDonalds, WalMarts, and everything around the world. Billions and billions of capital in American hands.
really? i was asking because the US is obviously the biggest importer of goods in the world, it is literally the worlds customer, in terms of resources though, you have very little compared to what you import, in comparison to resource based economies such as Australia and Canada, i can understand though that America deals a lot in knowledge, lots and lots of it, and i can see that luxury goods would be a significant export, however most of your manufactured goods are imported. I heard that most of the manufacturing industry has moved to Asia.

Probably the easiest way to think about the US economic imporatnce, globally, is to do the old old counter factual excerise.
Imagine the US economy imploded tomorrow?
What do you think the effects would be across the world?
(Hint: bye, bye Europe, South America, most of Asia, and China buggered.)

oh i'm not questioning the importance, but its that very importance that confuses me, because it doesn't seem like a stable economy, but its importance to the world seems to come from it being like a solid standard. Or is it because many countries just have large reserves of US dollars.
