haha, wow you thought democracy made everyone in america rich?
Ever heard of sarcasm?
This is why I think Communism wasn't a half-bad idea.

Even better idea, getting rid of money.

How could I forget the 360, the hddvd player that you have to buy the 200$ hddvd drive for it to be able to do that.

It cheaper then that, but at least its not £425 just for a console...

Except that while the stratification system in a corporation driven open market capitalist system like the one in the US is very difficult / bordering on impossible to climb, the communist system as it existed in both major communist systems replaced capital with political capitol, which was handed out completely by association...

So the system that intended to fix a difficult climb made it an impossible one by mistake.

FOOL! The PS3 isn't just a console. It's also the world's cheapest Blu-Ray player.

Oh yeah, that's real clever. Binning money while people live out on the streets.

That much for a shitty Blue-Ray player in a shitty console...No wonder PS3 gets outsold by 360 and Wii every week.

Yes, a few times. Played fight night, resistance, def jam, motorcross (or w/e that racing game is called), and tekkan.

Well no wonder your opinion is negative!
Launch games tend to be - shall we say - "below average".

Resistance was good, but it's nowhere near the best the the PS3 or Sony can do.

yes I'm sure of it Masket, but so far all you're doing is naming games that aren't even out yet!

I bloody hate these new formats. I spent a fortune buying all my old videos on DVD and now I'll have to buy them all again on some other format. Its all just a con by the industry to rehash old stuff in an "directors cut 3 extra minutes of footage" style pish.

Same as bloody CDs iTunes etc.

If I wasn't so gullible I'd have bought a box of VHS tapes for 50p each rather than spend £10 on a DVD that I only watch once or twice (and I seem to always watch the films I owe when they come on the TV instead - whats that all about!?)

I'm not buying either of them. I'll just pirate every film/album from now on instead. Bugger the "quality" difference. Who really gives a sh*t if its free.

Will HD-DVD players not have backwards compatibility to DVDs?

I'm perfectly happy with the quality I get from DVDs at the moment. I don't have a huge telly so it really isn't an issue. At some point I suppose I'm going to have to buy a new player, and I'll go for a new generation one, but as long as it can play my old DVDs there isn't really an issue.
