HD-DVD vs Blu-Ray!

Post by Minister Masket »

What with all the rambling and the arguing and the GWAYHAY over the consoles, I thought I'd introduce this aspect - the format of films.

Blue-ray is superior. But then again, wasn't beta-max better than VHS?

Personally I'm really tired of corporations dictating which tech. we should use. I want the better one, and screw the corporations who spend bazillions on promoting an inferior technology!

This new format wars is like Windows Vista. I'll go eventually, but I'll go kicking and screaming. As long as they make DVDs, I'm staying there.

Well, actually being good is better then just having potential.

it doesn't matter how good it is, what matters is that the format that you have wins.

WHEN blu-ray dies, they will slowly stop making discs for it, and then everyone who bought a player is stuck with an expensive but useless antique

Both are fundamentally worthless to me until their blank media and writing device costs are competitive with existing technologies.

but there's more to it than power, they're price, and reliability and hd beats bluray in both categories

Why is HD-DVD more reliable than Blu-Ray?

I don't see a point for either one, but if i'm going for one I'd go for blueray because you can get one of those that plays games.

Isn't anyone else at all concerned that mega-corporations dictate which technology we should use?

You can always buy a dual player (HDDVD+BlueRay], or u can wait, like I'm going to do. I just wish I had a say in it and I wish these idiotic scientists and corporations and movie studios would work together in advancing technology, not against each other. Then again, I wish for peace on earth, and that's never gonna happen.
