What's Your Favorite Pink Floyd Song?

Postby static_ice on Thu Dec 13, 2007 11:52 pm

Apologize for the few choices, and that I had to skip choices for some in-between albums like Meddle and Obscured by Clouds, but you know how short the polls are these days.

Anyway I have a tough choice between Dogs and The Trial (the climax of The Wall)... Both have excellent lyrics IMO, but then again as good as the lyrics, concept, and connections are in The Trial, the actual musicianship is obviously better in Dogs (just because The Trial is more about telling the story of The Wall) so I must go with Dogs.

Sorry, not really a fan of theirs, and this will probably be my last valid post in this thread.

I purposely excluded an "I don't like pink floyd" option just for people like you :P

Wish you were here.

Although.....

When the Tigers Broke Free is a fantastic song as well.....

I actually took "The Wall", ripped the audio out of the DVD movie, chopped it into songs, and burnt it to CD's, as I wanted to listen to the music in that order :) One of the greatest things I've ever done....

Another Brick in the Wall! \:D/

When I was still in High School we performed this song all the time when professors were giving us quick tests (with no notices).

On the basis of just listening to the songs, I couldn't choose. But Time was my vote based on the added fact that I love playing that song (might get my band to play it...mmm...)

I'm a big fan of Roger Waters, but i really liked Division Bell too (LOst for Words).

It's hard to pick a single song but i do really like:

Echoes (except the middle part)
Comfortably Numb
Time

Wish you were Here is good too, but overplayed.

Brick in the Wall, not a fan. But there's some pretty good songs on that album. Hey You, One of My Turns, ....

*beats up static_ice because some of my favorite songs by them aren't mentioned*

No offense static those are all good choices (though a little surprised by a couple of them.)

If I had to pick, I would go with The Wall album as a whole.

I could list all of my favorites but it would be a long list featuring songs mainly from before Roger left.

Up until recently, Wish You Were Here was my favorite but i've heard it a lot in the last month and am getting tired of it.

I agree with Heimdall. Another Brick in the Wall is a good song but I don't understand why it's winning because it certainly isn't there best.

Really? You've probably heard them on the radio and just didn't realize it. Go listen to one of their songs.
