All I'm saying is that the Artillery shouldn't be able to bombard farms and villages...
Regardless of whether or not they are garrisoned by troops or not...

And i am saying that because those two farms were garrisoned by troops historically before the battle began, they will be able to be bombarded as they are a "marked " enemy territory.
Even in the film of Waterloo which starred Rod Steiger, which i have been watching over and over to get the gist of this complex battle, the farms and villages were readily shelled. I cannot understand why you wouldn't want them to be. To me it makes good gameplay sense anyways.
Artillery: can bombard opposing enemy
marked territory only on same side of Brussels Rd.
is what i would like to have on the instructions.

Yes thanks...Yeti_C...that is a kerning issue which i will attend to when the maps separate into two version. At present i am only only upsizing, so it does not translate correctly. Thanks for the interest though.

Bombardments - I understand the desire to make them as realistic as possible, which is why I'm a little surprised that you are happy with what is happening in the bottom right.
D01 and L04 can bombard the territories right next to them: b05 B06 etc... in fact D01 <> B06 will have to be changed regardless it is not possible to code bombardment and normal borders for the same pair of territories.
How about going back to considering my idea - buried in my essay response... of having a bombardment zone that both side's artillery can hit - probably designated by crosshairs of similar. I only suggest having a single set of territories for both sides for the sake of space and simplicity.
Of an "Except Von Bluther's forces" comment... which would be realistic - as Von Bluther entered the battle late on and wouldn't've come under much Artillery Shelling...

So all the bonuses on the board would be able to be broken by bombardment except for: Villages, Napolean, Wellington and Lobau.
Benjikat....i understand about D01 and L04, and will do something to remedy that situation.
I will investigate the cross-hairs suggestion, but having already done that on a temp basis, i think it might clogg up the open space on the terts, afterall they are very tight....but i am still open to trying it.
I am not in favour of not having Wellington or Napoleon unable to be bombarded...both were nearly killed from artillery fire.

Yeti_c...now that's a good point i hadn't thought of. Perhaps i will adjust accordingly after some more research.

i see the concept behind the targets but i just think.... ugh lol. looks bad AND i personally think itll be less fun even if the artillary are still powerful.
The fix that I suggested in the other thread works. I had the same problem on my Berlin map: lots of German characters. I just tested it out in a dummy file, using first your spelling then using the correct unicode for the "a" with diaeresis (two little dots), and it solved the problem.
Try replacing the offended line with:

Changes:
1. Impassable hedge rows changed in color
2. bombardments target cross-hairs removed....3 against 1 against them....i think.
3. "except V Blucher " retained in the bombardment instructions.
