Hmmm, sounds like British people taking over the North American Indians who later become 'Americans' or even the British people murdering all the Australian Aboriginals, and later becoming 'Australians'

Let's not be biased here, almost every colonial power slaughtered the natives. No-one in their right mind in this century would claim this was 'right' or 'humane'.

Your arguments are becoming less coherent with each response. What is your actual point or are you just ranting??

I know that, I just pointed out Australia's and America's out because a) I'm Australian, so it's relevant to me, and B) muy_thaiguy is American, so that was relevant to him.

muy_thaiguy was saying how violent the Japanese were during WWII throughout the pacific Islands, and I just pointing out that in some other world history books (i.e Australia's and the USA's) that this kind of violence and invasion is considered a good thing. 'The birth of nations'

I just had a conversation with a house mate just before. You guys are all worried about the fact that we could have been all speaking Japanese right now, or German, or whatever foreign language would have been pushed on us if the Allies didn't win the World Wars. But I have one thing to say, and please be opened minded and actually think about what I am about to say.

I live in Australia, and I speak English...... English is not the native tongue of this land, English is not the native tongue of North America. French is not the native tongue of Africa. So, if we were speaking Japanese now, who fucking cares.

Hate to break to you, but we do learn about the atrocities done to the Natives, especially under Andrew Jackson's administration. Kind of putting part of your argument to moot. Not to mention that this happens throughout history, no matter the people, no matter the continent, no matter the century. This happens. I don't feel the need for apologies for what happened in the past, because it is over and done with.

That said, the language isn't really the point. We would be living in a world of facism had we lost WWII, and that is, almost everyone can agree, no good.

As a veteran of the navy, and having sailed into Pearl Harbor, and saluted the USS Arizona memorial on more than one occasion, I find your post disgusting.....especially coming from someone from UK. My uncle lost his life on a corvette, escorting supplies to Britain during the battle of the Atlantic. My father served in the Royal Navy during the same war. And during 21 years service in the Canadian Navy I made many friends in both the U.S. Navy, as well as the Royal Navy. Perhaps one of them will reach out and grab your uneducated ass and explain where UK would be right now if not for the efforts of Canada, the U.S., and many other countries. Show some respect. And if you don't think I'm right.....try asking your grandparents what they think of your comments.
