HEARTBEAT FEATURE IN SPEED GAMES

Post by taranwandrer »

THIS FEATURE JUST COST ME A GAME AND HAS COST ME ANOTHER IN THE PAST AND HAS TO GO AND I AM PISSED PISSSED PISSED!!!

seriously though.
you are trying to deploy, and then the heartbeat hickup of the speed game resets the controls, and you click in response to the hickup incorrectly and deploy crucial armies on a wrong country and lose the game because of it...this feature sucks.

fix it.

Speed Games Improved
We've received quite a lot of feedback that 5 minutes isn't enough time when you eliminate someone and have a mid-turn cash-in. So the round/turn will now be extended by 2.5 minutes after each elimination in a speed game. If that's still not enough we'll consider lengthening it even more in the future.

We also got rid of that annoying "please don't click refresh so often" popup and fixed an issue where the auto-refresh can mess up your dropdown menu selection. Auto-refresh will no longer occur when a game dropdown menu is in focus.

Relevant section has been made bold. So, if you are still seeing this ...

I know I saw it a few times before the update - but have not seen it since. Of course, I don't play but a few speed games a week.

HEARTBEAT FEATURE IN SPEED GAMES

no.
i am talking about when the screen reloads just to alter the clockand it distracts you for a second when you are trying to be very quick and then you accidentally deploy on the wrong territory...this has happnned to many people i know and cost me 100's of points....

Yes, I agree with Taranwandrer.

The heartbeat is a good feature because it makes for very fast refreshes, but it also resets your selections in the drop down menus (how many armies to advance/deploy and what territory to attack/deploy on). Several times after I had selected what territory to deploy on, the screen refreshed, and to my surprise, I saw my armies deployed on the wrong spot.

If there is a way to maintain the fast refresh while keeping the preselected drop downs, please implement it! It has resulted in crucial errors and is very frustrating.

I've never had a problem with this. I have heard it happens to other people. I say keep it, it never affects me and I need every advantage I can get.

P.S- use the form

I've never deployed my armies in the wrong spot, but it is annoying when you are trying to make your deployments in 15 seconds before it does it again.
