i've been trying to figure out a good way to not have my dots dissapear into the background, i guess i'll hafta actaully put some effort in and make a bridge. I also was thinking of putting a border between woodhaven and cyprus hills which would cut down on the borders for queens

If you do that, I think this map would be great, and I would definately play it.

I added a logo and a border between woodhaven and cyprus hills. Again, i want some feedback on the background; they both have their merits.

The logo is good, except that the "Y" on New York is hard to see. The background, in my opinion, is good. Also Brooklyn is a bit to bright fo my eyes. I just noticed as I was typing this, but you should move the name Georgetown a bit to the left, as the n is on the background, and not very visible.

Just outline the "New York" with a black edge to offset it from the logo behind it.

ok, i've implemented a lot of your suggestions. I'm wondering whether i should ditch the texture in the background of the map key and just have black lettering with a colored highlight that goes with the continent...

Image

I'm still trying to work out a solution for Brooklyn being so bright, whenever i try to darken the yellow it gets a greenish tinge to it (i guess u'll hafta lower the brightness on your monitor for now...)

Im not sure about the texture in the key. It looks better that way, but it makes Staten Island hard to read. Maybe you could make a compromise in the middle.

btw: i've switched to higher resolution jpegs, which makes some of the colors look a bit diff.

The key is still kind of hard to read...maybe you could put a black border on the words? If you don't have a tool for that or know how to do it, an easy trick is to copy the text, make it black, and make it's size slighly bigger. Then, simply put that behind the old text. Besides that, the map looks great in my opinion.

Its great.. the only thing that bothers me(and has bothered me for a while, but I didn't bring it up) is the bridge from Edgewater to Flushing.. Its not perfectly straight.. Its not really a problem, but i'm a freak, so minor things like that bother me..

i've got one thats not quite so grainy on page 2, but it seems most ppl like the rough background, if you mean the logo looking a bit out of place, i was considering make it black and white. if more ppl agree w/ u then i will.
