If you don't like something someone does, do you provoke them in the thread, or do you alert a moderator to take a look?

Let's put this in a real life context:
If someone spits starts telling you about Sports cars, randomly, and you don't like sports cars, do you tell him to shut up, or do you change the subject/ walk away/ ignore him?
It's semi- trolling, because there are countless people that post redundant threads on this site, yet you both seem to love xtra, and follow him, and always post in his topics to piss him off.

If you don't want to mess with the bull, don't hold red.
