has anyone else noticed that when people miss turns in CC, it is ALWAYS hospital related? i LOVE that i play against a bunch of "make a wish" kids on their death beds!!! keeps the ol' win percentage up!!! i'm just happy my Big Macs go to help keep the internet running in the Ronald McDonald house where half these kids are!!! i LOVE that excuse!!! even if it is real, you should just not even try to use it. why give an excuse? just miss and let it be!!! right?-0

Eh, I've yet to hear that excuse.

Most (or all now that I think about it) of the explanations I've heard relate to being out of town and without internet.

Oh, and I'd rather hear something from them than nothing.

I think OnlyAmbrose set the bar pretty high for missed turns.

Recently Ambrose was evacuated from his home because of the California wildfires. Did he take it lying down and miss his turns? Hell No! In the face of an onrushing wall of flames, Ambrose dashes back into his house, grabs his laptop and drives to the nearest secure location so that he can take his turns. (At least that's my version of what happened.)
A true CC'er if I ever saw one.

Hey, what about me..........There were fires over at my place too.....(only I didn't have to evacuate)

Ambrose....hope everything is better for you.....

Missing turns should not be used as a tactic though, but unfortunately, there are people who go to hospitals.

Out of pure curiosity, how many hospital excuses have you come across.

i've never missed any turn in my games that i can remember. once i slowed a real time game (b4 there was speed games) because my nephew went muddung and got his dumb butt stuck. i had to go pull him out. that's the only time i had to explain why a game took too long.

I think I've only missed turns due to being on the sea (like being on the road but with more water) and not having internet access and because of partying.

I've never had the excuse. People have said that they couldn't get access to a computer but never that they were in the hospital.

maybe it`s you and your humorous claims to be the best player on cc. Your sending them into hysterics with it. Low score and only playing doubles! Shit i think i broke my rib laughing, ooohh best go to the hospital. Sorry if i miss a turn

I took my laptop with me, and used the secure wi-fi to take my turns the time I was in the hospital

played 3 turns in the er

Postby Windparson on Mon Dec 10, 2007 7:46 pm

Was`in the ER here in Hopewell. Had a funny hat then. The laptop was in the car, so I had the wife go get it. (was getting a transfusion for an internal bleed), so, as I expected there, were numerous "open" networks that I may or may not have accessed to make my moves.
;0

Did miss a good bit of moves when my baby brother died. (he was 36 but still my baby brother). Got my only negative feedback during that time, and the person who gave it to me was on a triples team with me, we still won the game, I let him know what happened and still a neg.

Oh well, what you gonna do.
