This may be similar to kitten's post, but I'll make a few changes...

She
lies to us! She deserves blame!
- Voter Turnout -- If only a small portion of Conquer Club turns out to vote, how effective is that democracy?
Well, countries like America and the U.K has appaling voting turnouts, and you don't see them doing anything about it! Besides, like kitten said, you could easily alert the whole CC community easily through PM's and/or Announcments.
Not Researching Canidates -- Going to the ballot box without much knowledge about who the person is, where they stand on issues, etc, would be a big problem. The age old 'Name Recognition' may simply be the only reason someone gets a vote (I.E. a frequent poster).
But that's the point! Because a few posters have posted so much, we
know what their character is like, and whether they are trustworthy.
eg: We would never -
NEVER - vote Fircoal, because if elected, he
will decorate the entire CC backround with Pikachus.
Popularity -- Simply put, popularity doesn't always translate into someone being a good moderator. Just because you've got a large lobby behind you doesn't mean you'd be right for the job.
Did you ignore my post? It seems that way. Stop eating bananas!
Popularity would have nothing to do with it. Most posters on here would have enough sense not to elect big posters. And as I said, mods like yourself would have the
final say in the matter of who moved onto the podium.
Problems, Glitches, Etc -- With ballot voting, this opens up the door to accusations of ballot fixing and a multitude of other problems.
You already have plenty of experience with people complaining about the "fixed" dice! If people do complain, do what you usually do!
That is all for now.
