Directors Personal Journal, March 16th, 1941

Since the Bastards have quartered us off during the War, Im frankly a little unsure what to do. With no guarantees of provisions or security for the long term, it can only be a matter of time before we begin to lose the upperhand with some of our patients. After all many of them show the most curious symptoms and need the most special of care. Frankly we are understaffed as it is, and privately sometimes i wonder if some of our staff really is acting in the best interest of our patients. Well I suppose I'll have to take a more hands on approach with our staff here, desperate times are going to call for desperate measures, and ill need to make sure my staff has their own heads on straight...since we really cant be sure of some of the symptoms our patients have could spread to the minds of those who are charged to protect them.

From Henceforth I shall decree that everyday we shall send one person to treatment in the Tranquility Chair unless i see fit to stop the action. That way i can be assured that nothing undesirable happens in my Asylum. Must speak with the (unreadable) about some of the conditions here and what steps must be taken. Send flowers to Maude and make sure last bits of postage get out before offical quartering takes place, shant live it down if i forget it i fear...

I am slowly going crazy 12345, Switch, 54321 crazy going slowly am I . Pull yourself together chap, remember what they tell you, keep ones wits about you. Dont want to get sent to the Tranquility Chair do you? Rumor has it the only transmission that the director has recieved is that anyone who leaves the aslyum will be taken as a prisoner by the Germans, or worse as other rumors say. So we are stuck, not that i was going anywhere anyway right. Many of us hear voices telling us we should rise up against those who keep us and take control of the asylum...and many of us are planning just that. Still, it seems you cant tell who is sane in here anymore and who isnt. Most of us will do anything to stay away from that tranquility chair, or to stay away from the number of other ways they "treat" us crazies. Everyone is out to get you these days, and you never can tell if your "treatment" is the last thing youll ever experience. Because of the hostilites lately, the director has ordered that every day one person must be sent to the tranquility chair, even employees if the majority demands it. Sounds good by most of us, theres a person or two on staff who I wouldnt mind having spend an hour or two in the chair. Of course we either leave them there till they rot or kill them where they sit....surely we will kill them where they sit....I hate this place....it closes in on you, waiting for you, wanting to kill you....
