Is it appropriate to leave bad feedback for someone who signs up for a real time game and then disappears, only to play it slowly (a turn a day) with no explanation?
Granted, if they tell me something came up, not a big deal, but if they say nothing... would you leave negative feedback?
If they are playing within the rules and not missing their turns, then it seems to be unfair to give them negative feedback for it. Freestyle just shortens the maximum duration for the rounds to twenty-four hours and lets people go when they have time.

yeah i think this is right i mean something like there mum could of gone to hospital and they had to go no matter what but if they keep cumin up with excuses then dont RT with them

I may be operating under a misconception. When players speak of a game being realtime, I am assuming that they are meaning that the game type is freestyle rather than sequential. Am I mistaken?
yes. To get into realtime games, you usually need a password. To get the password you must see the thread announcing the game as realtime. WHen you get the password, you find out its a realtime game if you didnt already know. If you are going to play slowly, dont join the realtime, and if you leave the realtime without an excuse, you wil be given bad feedback for joining a game thats meant to be pllayed differently than 1 turn a day
I'm agree, i would leave feedback after they had had sufficient time to offer an explanation. It has happened to me twice, and both times the player said in game chat as soon as he was able to get back to his PC why he had had to abandon the game. I have also done it myself once, and explained my reasons in full as soon as I was able.
Given that a free to play member may have their last slot tied up in what turns out to be a non realtime, it really doesn't cost anything to offer some sort of explanation.
Positive: Great guy, will always play to his best. Honourable and fun to play with as well. You know you're in for a rough time playing mrdexter Game 31384 [player]Haydena[/player] Positive: Mr D is the golden child of CC, if we had to elect a king he'd get my vote! Why don't you PM the player in question, or ask in game chat, why they chose to not play realtime? Perhaps s/he is a clueless noob and would serve better with an explanation of what consititues realtime, rather than negative feedback?
