The Hardest and Easiest Games to Play

Post by Itrade »

Which map with which options do you think would make for the hardest game? Let's assume that everyone is of equal experience for this.

Similiarly, which do you think would be the easiest map and options for a game? Again, all players are of the same experience.

In my opinion, a no-cards, six player free-for-all with adjacent fortifications in USApocalypse would make for a really tough game. Everyone would quickly choose to scramble for Ye Olde Newland and Aquaria while trying to get the required other irradiated territories to remove their negative troop penalty.

The easiest would be a map with very few countries that are all bordering lots of other countries, with escalating cards and unlimited fortifications. You'd just attack countries 'till you get a set, hold it until at least two other people cash their sets, kill off the weakest guy in win. At around round 5.

So, you guys go any opinions on this matter?

I would say, 6 player, no cards, adjacent, sequential, on classic would be very tough as there are so few territories to begin with.

Easiest would have to be a 1v1 game on classic, with unlimited forts, sequential, and escalating cards

I would say, 6 player, no cards, adjacent, sequential, on Circus Maximus would be very tough as there are no bonus continents.

Easyest,mmm

Montreal or Siege where you can have a one country bonus right from the start. Very usefull in a 1vs1 setting.
Ofcourse it can turn into a nightmare if you are not the one holding that country...lol

That would also be an extremely futile game. And frustrating. And luck-based.

boring, futile.. all true.
But to win it is the hardest. Most people run out of patience and run rampage, ending it for them and giving a boost to others.

Anyways, a lot of maps are ´hard´ in the sense that it takes time to get used too. Like the classic map ats have been devised that make holding australia almost futile.. These maps where a good player knows its special quirks, can be a huge advantage. Not knowing them a huge disadvantage.
Its appeal is personal. Myself i am fond of classic, diskworld and world 2.0.

These 3 maps are not comparable, but I like them all.

yeah I agree with johnny, but I don't think that's he answer he was looking for.

For hardest I agree circus maximus would be insane as a chained, flat rate, seq with 4 players on it instead of 6 which would just clog the board and end up with people getting eliminated due to poor rolls and nothing more.

easiest would probably be 1 vrs. 1 on world map and going first...

Somebody has to win, no matter what, right? So the "hardest" to win, would be a 6 player singles game, because there are 5 losers.

The easiest to "win" would be a 6 player terminator game, because technically, you could have 5 "winners" (they could all gain points) Other than that, It would have to be 1v1, 2v2 or 3v3, because you have 50% winners.

Other than that, it's just based on how much luck you have, your skill, and your opponents skill and luck.

HARD - freestyle crossword adjacent no cards 6player assassin

EASY - Sequential classic unlimited escalating 1v1, 2v2, 3v3, or 6 person Terminator.

EDIT: AoM is really fun, and isn't as complex as people seem to think it is...
