completely lost. seems most everyone is. only 4 players have games on the scoreboard.

Well i have no idea about the riddle or finding vowels in the forums, but just from looking at the games that the people on the scoreboard recently finished i was able to decode it all? so, fun times!

clever Boow , I started assigning the alphabet to the faces , enerted them inthe game banners below the bronze silver etc and noticed patterns that were likely words for common games and settings and maps and started reassigning letters , like i used to decode cryptograms as a kid

Yeah, just a fancy cryptogram with smiley faces. haha. I will say after cracking it the cheating way that I did, I still don't get the puzzle! But I've never been good with riddles. Hopefully I never find myself in a cave with a gollum.

I think you only get tokens for esc when you should get it for any spoils

Yep I got only for Esc. I fact I created games only with ESc setting
I thought when not stated specifically settings should keep as their default value.
