This I definitely agree with.

I use wolves/mafia interchangeably and sk/serial killer for the role you are referring to. This probably added to the confusion.

To all the "old mafia veterans": i can't believe any of you thinking EW would be playing such a bad game in day time IF scum (on D2 when scum got our JK on N1?).

Id like Ragian and Loose to say their idea on EW's allignment and ask this - if EW is scum - would he have played it this way?

Balanced game, Charle knows how to set up balanced game, 2 night kills, at least 1 for certain but 2 more claimed town power roles.

It's hard to imagine a mafia team of just 2 + 1 third party.
4 including a 3rd party computes best by far, I think anyway.

The inconsinstencies DDS had are also seemingly contagious but in a inverted way. DDS said he had no time to be in here but he was browsing big time.. You said you would be very active this time but your staying silent as hell here.

And since chances are big we have an SK on our hands who probably wants to coast along as long as possible (since their wincon is just surviving to endgame), we should look closely at people who are just coasting without actually doing any scumhunting...like someone who’s trying hard just to blend in and avoid any heat. Do you know anybody like that in here?

My intention when I joined this game as a sub was to be very active, and try to help town to scumhunt as you call it and win this game.
But on Saturday I went down to next to not energy at all again, and all I want to do is to sleep, so yeah not been active the last couple of days. But I hope it switches back to lots of energy again soon, I will try my best to at least be semi active.

And I see you are hinting at me as a coaster, but lets take a look at the player still alive, and what my reads on them so far is.

- Loose Canon, feels town, but you great mafia players are so good to play all roles so hard to say, but my first impression is that we are on the same team.
- Chanakam, lots of activity, feelish townish I think, but not sure.
- Ragian, sus here because EW is calling him out, but not sure about what, so wanting to see how this plays out.
- Devante, tbd, not much to read so far.
- halrob64, claims cop, and I think he is telling the truth since nobody has counterclaimed, or called him out.
- Sonic, you also seem like townish, but frick last time you wore scum I got a lot of the same vibes of you as I do now, I have to observe and try to do some more research etc. when I got time for it.
- Extreme Ways, softclaiming some kind of observer role, and I do believe him.
- Max, tbd, not much to read so far.

.
We Know Darin had a Town Power Role.
Hal Claiming Town Power Role
EW Claiming Town Power Role
And
There should be one more town Power Role which is unclaimed yet, which is Town Doctor
.
9 Out of 4 townies having power Roles againd 4 scums .
Is it likely a balances game setting ?

If you do not know it for sure then you are not holding role with full power as you claimed.

Are you sure its not the game role you have? Because both of you (you and DDS) seemed very eager to start this game but that changed all the sudden when both of you got your game role handed out. And after tonight i think we have 1 mafia faction and 1 SK "for sure" in play.. the stress of being the SK could explain that sudden shift.

This is one of the things I have been strongly considering.

Lets start with analysing the nightkills. 1 of them is for sure from a mafia member. The other could be one of multiple:
- Serial Killer.
- Town Vigilante
- Mafia Vigilante/PR-killer

The third option has not happened on this site I think. I feel like it's safe to assume that Mafia will always have 1 nightkill.
The second option has not happened here often. If we have a town vigilante, then for sure Halrob's claim (or from your perspective: one of Halrob/EW's claim) is fake. That's imo way too much power to town.
The first option is most likely. We like serial killers here. This doesn't mean both my and Halrob's roles are both true, but it does mean that having two protectives (you also theorised a Doctor, which I agree with) is normal.

I am quite sure Sonic is town. I am less sure Ragian is town.

I am not as convinced by Sonic's argument of the pressure of an sk since you have no one to disappoint and you are never expected to win. Do I buy kingm's real-life explanation? Not really, it's out-of-game and while I wouldnt like it if someone lied about it, I also dont want to inherently believe it as a reasonable argument.

For the record, I didn't track Ragian anywhere. It kinda felt like he was playing chicken though, because I have faked a result in the past. Claiming Doc would be disastrous because the actual Doc would counterclaim. It was very easy to say "I didn't visit Halrob", but Rag wanted me to be upfront and just accuse him instead I guess?

I feel like Sonic was well aware what I was going for, reflected in his play.

If Ragian is scum, then Halrob is 100% town.

But this is one-way, if Ragian is town that does not mean Halrob being scum and Halrob being town does not necessarily mean Ragian is scum.

I think its very unlikely we would have 3 investigative roles. Because JK is a semi-investigative role too when he manages to jail a killer. Seems a bit town overpowerd if JK hadn't died N1. But who knows? Its "Charle fun mafia" so the important question is only this one: who is most likely town and who is not. When Charle was scum with PMC he loved the busdriver role. Laughing so hard with towns confusion so im thinking "Charle's fun mafia" will have some real funny roles too.

So I think we would have a cop "for sure" but Halrob's breadcrumbing when pressured and later spin-doctor play could be real or false. There is something off with his wording. But even when it's false he still could be VT acting as a good decoy for the real cop IF there is one in play or just being good scum bait.

In the end: Claiming cop D1 when false would be stupid. IF scum Halrob would have to be real lucky to get away and keep getting away with that.

But im wandering of the OQ here so the best person to answer your question on a balanced setup is Extreme.

tbh I hadnt considered that the offensive utility of jailkeeper also is investigative of some sort. I mean by that logic all protective/blocking roles are investigatives because you can clear the one you protected, too, but jailkeeper has multiple of em baked in.

I wouldn't be surprised with the 4 power roles we have on the table if we have a serial killer.
