Why has Craig been given a timeout again?

It seems to me that he is being wound up by some of the admins to deliberately bait him. Yes he bites. But is this really a way to run a site? It seems extremely childish to say the least. When I was young and playing football this would have been a case of' someone saying 'Its my ball and I'm going home'.

Craig has spent a lot of his time trying to improve CC and the super league is exceptional. When I enter a CC tourny I wait so long for it to start I actually forget that I had entered!

Admins should hold themselves to a high level of attitude. Especially to those that have paid to be on here. `

I respectfully suggest that the ban is reversed ASAP.

And a message to Craig. Stop biting and ignore instead. Trolls will soon find someone else to bait.

I agree with what the OP says, Craig is investing a LOT of time trying to improve CC and the Super League really helps maintaining traffic on the site, something we all benefit from. Perhaps he should tone it doen a level but he means well. Why not have a "live? chat, because email/chat ping-pong in my experience only leads to escalation and sometimes when you're just have a real face-to-face, tempers cool down. and I am not sure whether the mod in question showed the highest degree of tact either. Not picking sides, we all love CC and we all love Craig.

I don't know the history of the friction between Craig and CC, but it's really disappointing.
With the declining numbers, games in general, and speeders in particular, have really suffered. It seems to me that CC admins should be really appreciative of the attempts by Craig (and I assume a host of his helpers) to develop and maintain the Super League. I know it's what keeps me coming to CC regularly. I'm one of those lazy pricks who doesn't involve myself in the site in any useful way - I just come to play a game or two. I'm a user in the literal sense, and I'm grateful that guys like Craig and co exist so that Iscan simply roll up and play - not planning required.

Yes, I'm also a bit of an arsehole from time to time.....but I'm also regular (as arseholes should be).

If there's a way to rebuild the bridge to a happy (or at least tenable) relationship.....then do it!

I'm sorry, but can we back up a moment here? How is Craig trying to improve ConquerClub?

Is it by supporting Clans, the best way to play organized team games? No, he shits on them routinely.

Is it by supporting Tribes, a great way for a group of individuals to compete against others? No, he ignores them.

Is it by supporting other Tournament Organizers and trying to grow them? No, he was removed from the Tournament Organizers group because all he did was insult other TO's.

Is it by running 1 tournament over and over? There we are.

Technically though, he also makes good suggestions on how to improve his single tournament, hoping CC will take over and rerdesign the entire auto-tournament system so he doesn't have to lift a finger anymore. This is often overlooked because when mod's say something like 'BigWham will have to make fundamental changes so it's on him if he wants to do it,' he turns around and shits on the mods.

Reminder, mods are people that volunteer their time to look after the website, but have been given extremely limited powers and cannot make large changes to the site. Sometimes they're given $31 US per yearr, and Craig then shits on them for receiving anything for their time and effort.

Maybe if he learned to act like an adult, instead of throwing a tantrum everytime he doesn't get his way, he'd avoid being repeatedly banned from the forums. However, that doesn't seem to be gaining any traction.

The CC mods have been plenty patient with him. I remember receiving a long term ban myself back in 2009, last 10 years, and the mods back then would've been handing Craig 6 month or more bans.

As i said in my post Craig is by no means innocent, but the phrase that springs to mind is does the punishment fit the crime.

I've played 306 games vs Craig, nearly all 1v1 speeders. We used to have just regular casual chat about the game sometimes, sometimes just silence. I always found him pleasant.

Until he started Super League.
Then nearly everytime I played him he would flood the chat with all this super league stuff, copy paste I'm assuming, and ask why I'm not in it. I just politely said I don't want that kind of commitment, I'm in a clan, I'm in a tribe, and I like to play speed games. That keeps me pretty busy.
I told him this over and over to the point where eventually I just stopped responding to any messages about super league. I figured he just chatted with a lot of people and didn't remember me.

Until I got foed.

The interesting thing about that is about a week before the foe he told me his speed games were for super league players and asked me to stop joining them. I didn't understand what he meant as he has pretty much put up the same games and settings for years in speed land so I don't know why they would be exclusive to his league. So of course I forgot and joined a few more in the next week and got foed.

So how does that help the site exactly? We already have a main scoring system, a clan scoring system, a tribe scoring system, but he seems obsessed now with the Craig scoring system. It's like he has created his own site inside this site, and wants things run his way.

My first warning was the CaronylKluster memorial tourny that he turned into a gross promotion for super league, forcing everyone in the tourny into super league where it would take place. Luckily cooler heads prevailed, and he was booted from running it.

As everyone can see, his posts have become more and more unhinged, and if he is posting that kind of crazy publicly, I can only imagine what he is sending to moderators privately.

I have no inside info, just posting my experiences with him. Probably needed a timeout but what do I know

The Super club is right now the only thing keeping me on this site, since its a very active tourney with lots of players, So its fun, and gives us that fun compensative game play.

I'm not going to say if anyone was right or wrong, be nice if we can just move forward, and keep this tourney going. I personally would hate to leave this site.

I have a lot of friends on here that like playing super league, and I didn't mean to sound like I was crapping on it. I try to keep my game load under 20, under 10 if possible so I can get my speed on. But Craig told me straight up he was putting me on his foe list because I wasn't in super league so I couldn't join his speed games anymore. It was a really weird move considering we had never had any issues in chat and I always enjoyed our games.

Yes, Craig has just been sitting around minding his own business, and the evil moderators (that are super jealous of his super league) came out in droves to troll him into a response.

This is what he has emailed his Super League members in order to rile them up and make them angry against the moderation team, but in reality, Craig has been pushing their buttons since 2021 when he first thought of this tournament. barterer2002 said it best:



Fact is, there was half a dozen more organizers lining up to help him back then, including me and some of my clan mates who later joined the TD team. But with how he treats people, he has instead become the butt of a joke, and he can't seem to stop.

Over the past few years I've been a massive supporter of Craig and his tournaments, I'm sure he would testify to that. I'd even go so far to say that I actually like the guy, we're both UK cabbies and have quite a lot in common.

However over the past year his attacks on the moderation team and his threats to CC have intensified to an unacceptable level. Sadly, Craig has already stated that once his ban is lifted in approx 4 weeks time we will see Armageddon. Whatever that is will only result in one thing and that will be another lengthy or even permanent ban, not just from the forums and pm's but potentially from the website. I don't believe that anyone really wants that to happen. So I plead with Craig to reign in his threats before things escalate to a point of no return.

Zulu, "toxic and corrupt" sounds a little bit dramatic to me. Most of the Mods (I don't know every single one of them) are really great people who also put in countless hours for free to make this site great. Despite the fact that I would hate to see Craig go and I love the Super League (despite the fact that I took a break for a few seasons) I think we could show appreciation for the mods as well. Let's stick to facts, and everyone is entitled to an opinion but let's not start another flame war here.

You keep saying that Craig needs to rise above and not take the bait. But he's the one actually causing the problem in the first place. Like recently, he posted his theory in several places in the forum how it would be an improvement if mods no longer got their premium paid for because they do nothing to make the site better. So, of course, a bunch of people jumped down his throat because, 1) not all the mods get free premium, 2) the ones that do get $30 freaking dollars a year for a job that takes several hours a week at minimum so they don't make shit, and 3) they all knew he was just trying, yet again, to poke sticks at them. Because he's a petty child.

If you want to bother to look into the history of the beef, like the memorial tourney that was referenced above where he shamelessly tried to take a tourney dedicated to a very well-liked player who had just died and use it to pump up his league. There are others. At any rate, if you actually looked at things that have gone down, you'd find a pattern of: Craig acts like a dick, people get pissed at him for acting like a dick, then they confront him about it, then he cries persecution and raises the level of vitriol, then he gets punished.

I don't know him from Jack. I've never played in the SL. I just see what I see and make my determination on that. Well, that and when people on this site who I respect make posts citing evidence of his bullshit, I take note.

But, the very fact that you keep saying "Craig is not blameless" and then say he needs to stop letting the mods who troll him rile him up enough to bite back, means you're not actually holding Craig accountable for his actions, you're just trying to sound like you are.

Honestly this thread just makes me feel sad; one of the best tournament organizers on the site who really brings a fun tournament, with a large scale, and really intense competition, pitted against a group of the hardworking volunteers who keep this site going in other ways. Everyone has their own realm in which they're contributing to the site, and neither side is a true villain, just conflicting visions over how to keep the site alive and amazing for all. I wish this conflict didn't have to happen, and I'm saying that without blaming either side, and with the knowledge that both sides are unlikely to back down from their positions, because both sides feel offended by the other.

A sad day for CC that it's come to this, and that the people who have each in their own way made this site wonderful are against each other.

I take no sides, I just play the game and keep out of drama. But this is a sad result.

I totally agree with this, Also For what little the Mods get as compensation , and the work they actually do, they do go above and beyond for the token compensation they get.
