Pack Rat said Canada during the Great Depression had, “no policing of Banks” and “had strong regulations on Banks.” :?
Spoiler
The USA strongly regulated. Over regulated to the point it put banks at risk.
Spoiler
Canada was more liaises-faire. It was one of the least regulated banking systems in the history of the world.

Regular speed trains.

We rode Amtrak from Sacramento California to Tukwilla Washington.

Pros:
  • Seat pitch, plenty of room everywhere including in the Coach car, huge comfortable seats with plenty of leg room even for Mrs dimes and Jr who's around 6'5".
  • Food was good.
  • We got roomettes for most of the journey, bottom bunk was quite nice. Top bunk was a bit claustrophobic inducing but still a bed.
  • No pre boarding X-ray and they didn't seize my beer or sealed container of frito's bean dip.
Cons:
  • Price.
  • restroom in coach was kind of nasty.
  • Not being high speed rail made the trip pretty long almost 24 hours with a stop over in Portland.
At Sea-tac airport pre boarding security they threw out my bean dip after I was forced to get X-rayed. Obvious power moves to put me in my place. Frito's bean dip is not a liquid.
