Blue Jackets and Capitals battle for number 2
Maple Leafs and Penguins 4 and 5 at present , but have games to play to those above , so may go higher
Redwings and Rangers sitting 6 and 7 , looking safe unless some one hits a run late and they slip
Canadiens holding 8

Sabres and Bruins looking in , have games in hand , so need to start winning to pressure the playoff spots
Senators still in it , but need wins and Canadiens to start losing

Stars sit outside the playoffs , but have hit a run of form recently
