I've never ordered anything from Amazon. Probably never will. Amazon wants you to buy shit you don't need just like big pharmas (who colluded with china to create the kung flu pandamic) wants you to buy and get a vaccine you don't need. Seriously, I had the idea when i was a kid, I thought It'd be the perfect plan to become insanely rich: I create both the disease and the cure, unleash the disease first then provide the world with the cure a few months later, and just like that I'm a hero and I make a ton of $$$$$$$$$$$$$. They just improved my idea because you have to update every 6 months with the new variants that keep popping up everywhere, that's planned obsolescence, just like you need to buy a new $1000 iPhone on Amazon because yours is now outdated. People, you're all dumb as fck (not you saxi, you didn't fall for it).

I understand the idea of resisting Amazon because their model puts small businesses under and they don’t pay a living wage.
Or perhaps because most of the crap they sell is from China and you want to support American businesses.
Or maybe you are annoyed with ll the Amazon vans and you believe their increases pollution and congestion.
(Though that last one is debatable and with efficiencies it could be less polluting than individuals going to the store.O

Those are really the ONLY reason to reject Amazon. (At least if you live in the US.)

I mean it’s possible that with porch piracy if you live in a bad area their services may not be convenient… I don’t know.

Virus’ happen… pandemics happen… the law of averages predicted this virus. It wasn’t the first and won’t be the last. Just shut up and be thankful you live in an area with modern medicine, modern sanitation, etc. It’s been annoying and has caused death and cost many people lots of $$$, but it could have been much worse. It’s gotta be a horrible place to work. for the vast majority of employees. Boycotting Amazon on these grounds is reasonable.
(I doubt it would succeed, but it’s a laudable goal and has a possibility of success.)
(i.e. boycotting to improve worker respect, pay, benefits, etc.)

Obviously if the costs are higher then the business won’t survive… unless people decide the convenience trumps the cost.

Costs may be higher than Walmart, BJ’s, or Target occasionally… but I don’t see this as accurate “across the board”.
