Try the "Other Games" under Game Menu, to the left and near the Top.

That's what I meant, I went to the "other games" section, found Backgammon, but you have to invite someone by name to play them? Is there another way to do it? You can't join a game that's been prepared by someone else like you can with CC.

I learned the game from a pretty blonde I was dating at the time. The game was "okay" but at the time I was not happy about the randomness imposed by the dice. We did not play much. Needless to say, we found other ways to spend our time together.
