Actually the EU is number one by a factor of more than three (234,112 cases versus 85,594).

In other words, the number of people who have Tourette's Syndrome in the U.S. (0.6%) is 20 times higher than the number of people who have COVID-19 (0.03%). Thank you, President Trump, for Keeping America Safe while Europe is dying.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said Thursday his government has told the Trump administration that it is not in favor of the U.S. putting troops at the U.S.-Canada border. Trudeau said his government has been in discussions with the White House about convincing the U.S. not to put troops on the the border.

LMAO. Iraq wasn't in favor of the U.S. putting troops in Baghdad, a lot of good that did. The President has committed to taking care of America first and that may involve procurement of additional medical equipment through a variety of means and methods. Trudeau should focus on taking care of his infected wife.

29 US states still haven't issued any order for people to stay at home or for non-essential businesses to close, despite the US now having more cases of COVID than China. Trudeau probably just doesn't want those American soldiers coughing over the border.

There are definitely some countries playing loose with their numbers... and/or this started way before December and it’s way more. underreported than the authorities and media know/would have us believe.

Russia has just over 1000 cases? Come on!

China... with nearly 4 times the population of the US has ease the same number of cases? Really?
Yet they have 2.5 times as many deaths? The math doesn’t add up.

RI has put troops on its’ border to keep New Yorkers out!

https://www.necn.com/news/local/ri-gov- ... e/2251198/

“During her daily news conference, (Governor) Raimondo said she will now be ordering anyone arriving in the state from New York to self-quarantine for 14 days in order to protect residents. Rhode Island State Police will be at the borders and will be stopping any vehicles with New York license plates, she said.”

First; you are not quoting the bible but speaking as God himself,a bad personal flaw, second your figures are wrong! America now has the most covid-19 cases in the world. Trump laid waste to the office of pandemic preparedness and cut CDC funds(which he later lied about not doing because he put money back.) Trump screwed the American people by telling us this virus is a hoax and continues to resists efforts to deliver the needed ppe supplies. Now he wants to sound like a hero because he has been forced into action for fear he won't be reelected. There are now over 1246 dead and the number of new cases is overwhelming our health care systems. Trumps response has been to little to late because he felt it would hurt his numbers. Now he wants us all back to work by Easter so that the yet uninfected will be exposed as well. We are not safe and this emperor with no clothes wants us to believe all is well and the crisis is over. This fool needs to realize the danger he can't cope with and resign. The 25th amendment applies if he will not.

See my corrected figure (sorry, was also trying to stop the curlsonette rearranging everything on my desk at the time). The lowest number of deaths in the US per year from lightning in the last ten years was 16, and the highest 40. there were 87 deaths from covid-19 in the last day. So you had a 2-5 times higher chance of dying of corona virus in the US in the last 24 hours than you do of dying from a lightning strike in the US in a year.

Even worldwide (and your figure seems about right for the lightning), you are comparing an annual rate to a month or so: You should say: you have as high a chance of dying of the virus in the US in the last month as you do of dying from a lightning strike worldwide in a whole year. Given that the numbers are escalating, your claim will become less and less tenable as time moves on.

Actually, the next time you move the goalposts, you should talk about lightning strikes rather than lightning deaths, about 90% of people survive.
Perhaps we should all hope we're like Mr Sullivan, a Ranger who was struck by lightning 7 separate times.

In the same period of time "almost another 100" died in the U.S. (pop. 330 MM) ... 683 people just croaked in Italy (pop. 61 MM) and 112 more people were turned into plant fertilizer in the Netherlands (pop. 17 MM).

Such confidence and bravado but all I have to do is offer my May 1 wager and then everyone shuts up and rolls over, like good boys.

If that wasn't self-evident to you and you need that level of detail to comprehend I will be happy to amend it here to an exacting level of detail for your future clarification.

-United States average human deaths per 1MM (million) human population by COVID-19 in the preceding 12 Earth months which consists of approximately 360 planetary rotations around the G2V solar mass located at λsun=372.0322°=12.0322°(mod360°) = 4

-Global average human deaths per 1MM (million) human population by Lightning Strike in the preceding 12 Earth months which consists of approximately 360 planetary rotations around the G2V solar mass located at λsun=372.0322°=12.0322°(mod360°) = 4

Well, it's now up to 5/million in the US, which invalidates your argument. the numbers have jumped by over 15% in the last day. Which seldom happens with lightning.
Also, in the last year, 38 times as many US residents have died of covid-19 than been killed by lightning, and on a global scale, 67 times as many people have been killed by covid-19 than by lightning strikes.
You could move your argument to something about the difference between "38 times" and "67 times" if that'll help your position. For now.

Correct, we've wasted so much time with your pedantic spam that this is no longer an applicable figure.

jonesthecurl wrote:Also, in the last year, 38 times as many US residents have died of covid-19 than been killed by lightning

In the last year (up until yesterday), the per capita number of Americans killed by COVID-19 was equal to per capita global deaths by lightning strike.

I'm sorry you're unable to comprehend but there's nothing more I can do for you. I wish you all the best in your future endeavors.
