To be fair, the foundry is dead and the 'meta' is growing very stale.
I'm sure this will produce a few shit games, but hopefully some very fun ones too.
Either way, it's an even playing field.

Maybe we had our other map picker, pick them. People tell me he’s crazy.

This is getting more unbelievable by the second. I think what happened is since you know josko's gone, you're even more confident you'll win this war and now you want to add style points.

Josko has been... less involved in S&M for a while, they are a very strong clan and I think they've never been a true one man show. Josko was just a very strong player with excellent specialties and also a very good general skillset, but S&M has more strong players. Josko just (used to be) the most vocal.

It was my fault - I really enjoy random games - I get a bit bored with all the usual choices, and after Arama gave me all that catnip, well, it just sort of happened. So sorry....

I agree with your assessment of S&M. But might be underselling and dissing Josko a little bit...

Best of luck to both in this war.
Hope to see another close heavyweight battle to the end.

They can win without Josko. TOFU won some things without CoF, which everyone might equate to the same situation. I’d say S&M are still heavy favorites, although he’s a phenomenal player who I’m sure they miss having.

I like to keep people on their toes.

With yet another S&M encounter it seemed sensible to venture into the unknown rather than dredge-up the same old maps every time.

Our random maps have turned out to be:

Doubs: Rail Africa, Kingdom of Denmark, Madagascar, Benelux, US Senate

Trips: Rail SA, High Seas, Tribal Florida

Quads: Rail USA, Thailand, Europe 1914, Monsters

I reckon that's a damn fine set of maps and we managed to avoid some of the crap out there.

Enjoy the contest everybody :D

Please TOFU, explain.
Well, some chaps really wanted to play Thailand and Charleston and we felt like we couldn't rely on RNGesus to give us both. This was a good guess, because we only got Thailand in the randoms.

Now that josko is off the site for the moment, I officially pick CoF as my new best friend. Good luck to everyone involved, but mostly my new bestie.

PM'd davekettering (read, no reply) re deadline for Batch 2 games. How do people feel about this? Can we move it back a week but keep the same deadline for joining?
Dave,

Schedule for 2nd set of games is 11th August - just three more days.

Can we push back to 18th August but keep the same deadline for filling games, i.e. 25th August, so effectively no time is lost?

Seems crazy to be setting up the next batch when the first set has only just started.

I am fine with an 8/17 due date push from 8/12. I want to leave 9-10 days on the back end for filling final games and still meeting the 6 week window. I have discussed this separately with COF and we are 8n concurrence. I will adjust the OP.
