It was originally billed as an open group. Only later did it's PL-like secret society agenda become known. I suppose now it also needs to be watched by concerned citizens, in case it engages in any criminal or terrorist behavior.

Anyway, I was going to tell him that if it is actually an open usergroup, you can just wait until it's formed and then go to Control Panel -> usergroups and join it from there. I would be remiss if I failed to notice that you can still post in usergroups as a guest. It helps the ban go by faster.
