dodgy teammates

Postby radiojake on Sat Jun 09, 2007 2:05 am

now played two games in last 2 days where my teammate has attacked me

One of them broke a continent to do it, the other was at the start of a game and says he didnt realise it was doubles (may be the case, still annoying)

anyone had any really bad doubles or triples experiences?

I tend to only pair with players I know - so if they make a mistake I know it is just that. On one of the occasions I didn't I had a brain dead moment and seriously attacked my teammate - total mistake and luckily we recovered and managed to win the game :)

Would suggest when playing people if you spot players you respect in gamestyle that you ask them to team with rather than choosing random hookups.

I had a teammate who wanted to take a +4 Armies continent. I had 3 troops, he had 3. No enemies there, so he thought it would be a nice idea to conquer it. Thing is, he didn't ask me to reinforce his troops there (Unlimited forts), and he attacked my troops, anyways. Needless to say, we fell quickly, since he was focusing on that continent and I couldn't handle the 2 opponents alone.

I will generally play with everyone but I have had a few teammates like yours. The other day myself, a sergeant, and another 1st class sergeant were playing in a triples team with a private. Unfortunately, he didn't realise it was triples for about the first three rounds and attacked us. He then apologised but one round later I was eliminated. that says it all

i was in a triples a little while back, it was a very tight game. and i accidentally hit auto-attack on one of my teammates on our 2 biggest armies. it hurt us real bad but we actually managed to win eventually even with me taking out 11 armies in a no cards game......

Ok, how about this one? Very entertaining. Billydigital has to take out only a few enemy territories, but attacks the wrong team and leaves his partner with very few armies left. The opponent gets in, eliminates Billy's partner, cashes in a set and wins the game.

Thats a pity, one of my greatest loves is starting a doubles game and see who it attracts as my partner and opponents. Once I got superstud before he became notorious. He only had about 8 negs but after reading them i dropped the game and pmd the reason why to him.

It does on occassions get u some brain dead partners but if they do as they're told you can get some good points with them and they can learn from it.

On other occassions I have had the most elite players in the community.

The most frustrating thing is when a cook constantly ignores you to do his own thing. Then you just sigh and thank god that at least you won't lose too many points.

That game was hilarious.

One reason why I will not play Doubles/Triples with people that I don't know.

Yeah, I think Billydigital wins the #1 fuckup move as far as I've seen.

i just joined a random triples game and am playing it right now. i dont know any of them and this is my first triples (im a newbie, havent even played a doubles yet. lol) and im all for the team as i play sports so ithink of the team and never myself. anyways, of my teammates is alright and communicates with me and seems to have a plan (even though it didnt work out) and then theres the other guy. fromt he start of the game, he has not said one word. he doesnt even care for a plan and seems to just do all for him. i mean if u dont even bothe rto communicate with ur team, y bother playing a team game. i can understand if he has his own plans but atleast talk or say someting. for my first turn i didnt even deploy on my own territories, i deployed it on the guy that talked to me and i gave him all my troops and that let him take a continet in 2 turns. im pretty much going to stay away from team games that dont have people i know.
