Not an easy thing to find, but here's the page about the stars:
https://www.conquerclub.com/public.php?mode=instructions7When they were originally brought in, iirc, there was a plan to have them be tradable, or donateable, but I think that's gone by the wayside.
Post total: 3
Yeah, now they're not useful they have to give them away in a forum game. Kind of reminds me of when we covered the lesson in history class about Confederate currency after the war, or it kind of reminds me of that movie idiocracy with Luke Wilson.
If i had a nickel for every star I have id have quite a few nickels.
"They" don't "have to" give them away at all. This thread exists because TeeGee has set himself a goal of increasing forum attendance and works at it conscientiously.
Do "they" know that stars have no real value?
I kept thinking at some point they would hold a sort of value as in we would be able to trade them for cc credits, I don't care to play auto tournaments, im sure there are others as well... I'm just saying stars are of no value to me, so why not make them valuable. Sure I posted in this thread so technically he got me to post, which I rarely do these days. But it wasn't because I wanted a star. I have plenty of them, so i don't need any more. Maybe they could be used to get a double turn in tic tac toe or something like that, could use them to boost tic tac toe participation....
Im just spitballing here.
I understand for the vast majority of people, they aren't interested in what the stars represent etc. I've suggested a few ideas in the past myself to expand their use.
However, saying they "have no real value" is inaccurate, I'm sure stealth99 who won $500 amazon gift card from his autotournament, and whoever it was that got runner up $100 would disagree that there was no "real value" to them. And whoever wins the second red star edition will receive the same prizes, so thats $1200 in real value that will be given away (among other credits etc from joining the auto tournaments).
I know exchanges and other stuff are simplier and would be more widely used, and I am a proponent of it getting expanded as well. But i also think there is some value, even if the market / interested group is significantly smaller then what it potentially could be.
Yeah, I agree they do have value, and I do understand the concept. It actually could be very nice, but the tournaments are never really to my liking, at least every time I have ever looked I never found one I liked. As a matter of fact I did play and win one way back when, but all I got for it was a flipping orange star, which 3 days later I got an orange star just for logging on. I wont lie, that was a bit of a turnoff in itself. Ive mentioned in the past why can't TO's use the star system. Could make for some interesting prize combos. But that was a couple years ago, and now I have trouble caring, I mean deep down I care, but i know its useless to care really. So I keep my caringness tucked away. I don't see why TO's couldn't actually use the auto system, I mean, at least a trial run right? I know you wouldn't really want to flood the market, but you could limit it however you wanted.
Anyway, I just saw this thread and was bored at work today, so i chimed in.
