I had chicken fried rice for dinner, and haven't had the runs yet. Yay me!

You mean a live re-enactment of the first pokémon-movie?

I would sit on a roof somewhere with a "welcome the apocalypse" sign and be the first to go.

It's "Hail the Apocalypse" - we've been through this, keep up.

Last Saturday, a friend of mine was hit by a car while riding his bicycle. Turns out, the two idiots in the car were playing pokemon. Luckily he wasn't seriously injured, but he broke the cars windshield.

Why would you call it stupid?

This game has been nothing less than massive gift to society.
  • I'm hearing about huge benefits to health and fitness. One news program I was listening to said the people playing it are walking an average of six miles a day. Don't know how reliable that figure is, but if true it's HUGE. Even if the real figure is half of that, it's still a major benefit to health and fitness -- getting a bunch of people to walk three miles a day.
  • I'm hearing about major social benefits. All kinds of nerds are getting out of the rec room and into public parks and stuff and actually interacting with live human beings other than their mom.
  • I'm hearing about educational benefits. While they're in the parks waiting for their furry friends, they're reading historical plaques and studying architecture and seeing wildlife. One guy I was listening to on the radio last week was giving an enthusiastic rundown of all the museums and churches that he's discovered for the first time. Places in his own home town that were always there but he never noticed before.
So what if there's the occasional problem? Nothing is perfect. But everything I'm reading about this is 95% good stuff and maybe 5% bad stuff. It would be a real shame if the bitch-bitch crowd managed to get this shut down.

Actually Duk, you are right. Before I started playing PoGo, I walked about 1km (0.6 miles) per day. Now I doubled it at least, if not tripled it. I met new people and after all, the game is fun. Whoever likes to collect things (ie. medals here on the site) will like the game. Riskllama isn't a collector for sure, so I understand him.

Interesting, for some reason, I'd have thought you'd have been more cynical about this.
