Still, I think the OP has a point that the comments were in violation of the site guidelines. Perhaps not in severe violation, but in violation nonetheless.
Have we seen far worse chat-comments? Of course we have. But that doesn't change that every singly violation is a violation, even if it's a minor one (like I think this is).
