Well, in RL I don't think there is a political party actively trying to kill me--make of that what you will.

I was going to vote for myself but that has the same effect as abstaining. At least by abstaining I can still use my vote before the deadline if I choose instead of wasting it on myself.

I just can't get on board giving someone power based on nothing. I understand that someone has to be elected speaker right off the bat, so we've got to do something. However, I'm reserving my vote until someone does something that I find townie. I'm surprised how little discussion is going into this.

The chamber floor was rustling with noise Monday morning, as the new parliamentary session was about to begin. Streaker had just been elected as Speaker, and banged the gavel, calling for order in the chamber. When the members quieted down, he said he was very proud of himself for his campaign slogan rhyming, and thanked all of his loyal supporters. Then, with another bang of the gavel, the floor opened for debate. Today's topic of discussion: even though the new term had just started, its members were already looking ahead to the next elections. Which political faction would win in the upcoming midterm? Which would be destroyed in the desperate struggle to maintain political power? Much would be revealed over the coming days, as the members revealed their true intentions.

Day One begins. Our first recess will be in 10 days, at 14:00 CC Time on August 1. The Speaker may call for a vote to end the day at any time prior to that, at which point a 24 hour lynch period will immediately commence.

I agree with this... I would not at all be surprised if there are 2 (or 3) factions with some third parties around, but no true "scum" who know who everyone on their side is and have killing power etc. Maybe each side has a vig so people will still die at night.

With as short of a deadline as we had to pick the first speaker, it was basically impossible to really prove anyone or have any real discussion. It's not like anyone was going to claim or anything, since no-one was at actual risk.


I recommend that during the day phrase we vote as normal in red, the votes won't actually count but we (and the speaker) can add them up at least to see where we stand, and give people a chance to claim before being lynched, etc.
