I didn't classify your post as abusive - merely as being over-populated with swear words. Did it communicate any less feeling without them? I don't believe so. Personally I interpret the need to emphasise an argument with swear words as indicating a weakness in the underlying argument - a bit like shouting does - but that's probably just me.
Personally I class the game chat comment as abusive - if someone came up to you and called you that to your face, would you just let it pass as being colourful language? I wonder. It's not that it's swearing, but that it's directed at a fellow player.
Were I to moderate this, by the rules of the site, I would have to say FAMO, but I wouldn't class it as a spurious report.

Actually, I would be inclined to let it go. It was a single comment, not a rant, and I don't jump at any chance to fight. I only do so when I feel I have to. And, even if I were to decide to respond, I would respond directly; I wouldn't go running to mummy and daddy (the mods) to tattle on the guy calling me a rude name. I work in construction, and hear this type of language all the time. If I got mad every time I got called a word, I'd be fighting nearly every day.

I tend to agree with you, generally. But, I think that should be a "way of thinking about comments that are directed towards me" and absolutely not "a punishable offense." If you catch my drift? I would never drop unnecessary F-Bombs, or C-Bombs, or whatever against another person. I do tend to picture it like I was having a conversation with someone (like you do, apparently). But the idea that this can be used to report someone also seems fascist and ridiculous to me. Book burning is worse that being rude (and, yes, I realize that's an extreme comparison). But still, no need to punish somebody for hurt feelings, even if I would never express myself that way. This is not a problem, it's just rude. Caff does not come out looking like a "good guy" here, but, if that's the standard for reporting someone, that's absurd. The entire new york times "comments' section could be reported. Have the "swear word filter" on, if you are so easily offended.... the internet is full of rude people that say much meaner things without using the "F word." The "F word" doesn't make anything intrinsically worse than the statement itself.

Well i am by far perfect when it comes to swearing and generally being an asshole in chat a lot. I do however never outright insult another players family as iAmCaffeine just did in chat. To most this seems harmless, and to a lesser degree i agree. What he cannot understand is a lost my older sister to cancer when she was 12 years old. So to me this is as low as it gets. Think before you insult me anymore iAmCaffeine. If you want to know the truth about all my cheating ways, simply ask me. I have been wronged on this site multiple times. If nothing else you are much worse then me, you constantly troll others and abuse there well being as you have just did to me. I loved my sister, and you just insulted her, congrats.

I happen to be one of those people on occasion. Everyone has certain things that have happened to them, but if you can't see past the meaningless banter or insults then that's something you need to deal with yourself, because every time someone insults your mum, dad, sister or brother, you probably can't afford to always rise to it. I generally find that only folk who are either immature, lack self confidence, have less than average IQ or are cowards resort to abuse in game chat. They seem to think it makes them look big, when in fact it just makes them just look small and very sad.
