Champion Series

Congratulations to the Tournament Winner - Triple6

A 1 v 1, 16-player tournament for premiums.

Players must select a 'home' small map from the options in the banner.

Feel free to suggest any other small maps for the TO to consider.

Tournament Format
Spoiler
Each round is a 4-player group stage. Within each group, all players play one another on each others' 'home' map and on Doodle Earth.

The top two players from each group progress. Players are compared, firstly, on number of best-of-3 (or 5) matches won, then number of games won (where it had been best-of-five then the first 3 games will only count as one game).

In the case of two players having equal number of wins then there will be a one-off tie-break (on Doodle Earth) to determine who progresses (except in the final where there will be a 3-game play-off on each others' 'home' map and on Doodle Earth).

If more than 2 players have equal number of wins then all concerned players will play each other in a round robin on Doodle Earth (if this does not produce a winner then the player with most number of troops at the end of games will progress). If more than 2 players have equal number of wins in the final then the round robin will involve players playing each other on each others' 'home' map and on Doodle Earth (the round robin is repeated until a winner is determined).

In the first and second phases, if both qualifying players have equal wins, then the (almost irrelevant) group winner will be dtermined by the winner of the match between the two players.
Acceptable Map Choices:
Spoiler
As well as maps appearring in the banner, the following are acceptable:
  • Classic Cities Madrid
    Three Kingdoms of China
    Slovakia
Feel free to suggest any other small maps for the TO to consider.

If players fail to post their map choice then they will be given Doodle Earth as their home map.
First Turn Rules:
Spoiler
If the same player starts all 3 games, and the Tournament Organiser is informed, then an additional 2 games will be created to make it best-of-5 between the players. Further games will not be created beyond this.
First Turn Fog of War Courtesy Rule
Spoiler
Where fog of war is present, the competitor who goes first in round 1 must either wait 10 hours before taking their turn, or inform their opponent(s) in game chat of any regions conquered during their first move, and who from. Failure to do either will mean the competitor in question is unable to score any points in the game.
Match Options
Spoiler
Each match will be Automatic, Sequential, No Spoils, Adjacent Reinforcements, Fog of War, Trench & 20 Round Limit.

Players
Spoiler
There will be 16 players.

Players must have a 97% attendance record, have played a minimum 25 matches, and not have dropped out from one of my tournaments previously! Premium required.

Players will have 24 hours to join their matches from when the joining PM is sent. Failure to do so will result in a reserve being sought (harsh, I know).

Winners of each match should PM the Tournament Organiser.
Reserves
Spoiler
After the First Round, reserve PMs will initially be sent to the player(s) eliminated in the previous round. If none of these players respond within 24 hours, then all players eliminated will be sent a PM. When a PM is sent, the first reserve to respond will gain a place.

For the first round, reserves will be drawn from the reserve list.
Joining Matches
Spoiler
Players will be sent an invite when they have a match and will have 24 hours to join. If they fail to do so then they will be ejected from the tournament and a reserve will replace them.

Seedings / The Draw
Spoiler
Players will be drawn at random by random.org.

There would be if the 'Watch this Game' add-on still worked.
