Just face it. This is so that Batman can kill Superman so that they can have a third go at rebooting the Superman series.

To be honest, the trailer looked better than I expected but I still don't have that high of hopes for the movie.

I think it's gonna be the greatest yet. I used to hate superhero movies, even rip on them and people who liked them. But then the Dark Knight got hella real and Nolan tied in a lot of current events and put Batman into those situations. This one is gonna be chalk full of PC bullcrap (peddled by Supes, the government, and the Gotham establishment) as well as the concept of Freedom, Liberty. and the American way are put to the test.

also the movie will focus on howcertain philosophies have failed society, where most of the citizens regularly stick up for the bad guys and play the victim card at will, where the media is more concerned with telling people what and how to think rather than reporting the news. There is a movement whipped up to remove Gordon, and it's demanded that a woman take his place, not neccthe best person for the job. also the whole false God aspect (the soldiers kneeling for Superman) will be major because of a highly secular society and the citizens in the movie start saying thing and doing things that take their convictions to a whole new level. Robin is a young girl. Reagan is president, and apparently Zack Snyder doesn't hold him in too high a regard. FDR is repeatedly hailed and referred to as a hero.

The tenuous political nature of this universe is what seemed interesting about it. With superman gathering an increasing following (even if unintentional) with the backlash of creating an increasingly radical opposition leads to an interesting premise. That said, I am still not that interested in seeing Ben Affleck Batman and last I checked they were still trying to shoehorn in a few heroes who have not been given a backstory.

This looks like its going to be better than the first movie at least. I hear you on Ben Affleck, but who knows? He might do an all right job.
We shall see.

Theory: Ben Affleck sucks; therefor, his role as Batman will suck. In addition, every Batman movie has not been a runaway success because of the acting of the one who plays Batman; but by the one that plays Batman's rival(s). Now we are going to have Superman vs Batman with Ben Affleck (who already is known to suck) giving over to the acting of Henry Cavill? There will also be additional heroes that will lend their acting prowess as well.
And we can't leave out Lex Luthor being played by Jesse Eisenberg. Will this be the main villain? If so, is Jesse Eisenberg up to the task of spectacular acting to bring the audience to both love and fear him? Let's take a look at Eisenberg's brand of acting:

I would have to say the surprise acting in the movie is going to have to come from Eisenberg for this movie to work. If so, the movie will be a success; if not...Batman vs Superman will be a very expensive flop.

That's my theory...it depends entirely on the acting, not on who is doing the acting. They have to be on par for this to succeed.

All superhero movies are disappointing. It's more about us than about them. We fell in love with these superheroes when we were wide-eyed little kids, and they seemed so amazing and magical. Now we go back and hope to recapture the magic, but it's not there. There's just no way an adult can marvel at something the way a kid does.

In most cases the stupid plots and the overblown acting are pretty faithful to the spirit of the comic books. It's our perception that has changed. We are jaded, and we can't blame the directors for that.

I haven't seen watchmen... but I know that for me nolan's trilogy were the best super heroe movies out there. Also I love christian bale and I'd have trouble seeing ben afleck impersonating batman. So no, not really excited about that movie.

No there are a number of good superhero movies, at least in my not so humble opinion.

I loved "The Shadow" and the Hotel Monolith.

Watchmen isn't even in the top 10 best superhero movies. =) The original comic by Moore and Gibbons is far, far better.

IMDB's top ten highest rated superhero films:

1. The Dark Knight - 9.0
2. The Dark Knight Rises - 8.5
3. Batman Begins - 8.3
4. V for Vendetta - 8.2 (I enjoyed this one more than Watchmen.)
5. The Avengers - 8.2
6. Guardians of the Galaxy - 8.1
7. X-Men: Days of Future Past - 8.1
8. Ant-Man - 8.0 (Newly released movies generally start out higher and trend downward later.)
9. Mind Game - It's based on a comic, but I don't know if it really fits the bill as a superhero movie. I haven't seen it, though, so I'll leave it on this list.
10. The Incredibles - 8.0 (when it was released, it was the best superhero movie at that point.)

Watchmen's way down at #20 at 7.6, still respectable, but nowhere near The Dark Knight.

http://www.imdb.com/search/title?at=0&c ... pe=feature

Superman movies on the list:
31. Superman - 7.3
37. Man of Steel - 7.2
60. Superman II - 6.8
92. Superman Returns - 6.1

It's hard to say whether Batman vs. Superman will be more Dark Knight or Man of Steel, but with Snyder directing instead of Nolan and Affleck instead of Bale, I'm thinking it will trend more to the latter. We'll see, though. I hope I'm pleasantly surprised. =)

I thought the first Spiderman was really well done.

Also the first Batman, with Jack Nicholson.

Meh I think the whole Spider-Man trilogy wasn't great, but I'd place the second above the first. Doc Ock was a much better villain than the Green Goblin.
