All the highest instances of the french muslim cult have obviously condemned those terrorist acts. the majority of the people aren't dumb enough to put the blame on all muslims or arabic immigrants. The only time the Front national (Le Pen's party) made it to the second ballot of a presidential election, there had been a huge reaction from the french who voted chirac (85% like a banana republic dictator score) in spite of hating him. Sorry but that won't happen in our lifetime saxi.saxitoxin wrote:So it looks like Le Pen will be the next president then.

betiko it turns out that the attackers were fighting in Syria against Bashar al-Assad... I wouldn't be surprised if they were funded by France. You guys are reliving the same errors that Americans did with Osama.betiko wrote:All the highest instances of the french muslim cult have obviously condemned those terrorist acts. the majority of the people aren't dumb enough to put the blame on all muslims or arabic immigrants. Where have you read that? They aren t saying much here about them here, other than which cities they are from... I think the police has asked the press to be discrete for now.GoranZ wrote:betiko it turns out that the attackers were fighting in Syria against Bashar al-Assad... P.S. You still think that Bashar al-Assad regime is worse compared to the one that might follow after him(if we presume it is replaced sometimes)?

Not sure you can expect me to apreciate this kind of humour the very same day we ve had our biggest terrorist attack since 1961. Not to mention that the people who died are most of the most famous french cartoonists since the 60s. Peaceful old men with teenager minds just messing a bit with everthing in our society through cartoons.DoomYoshi wrote:usually i blame the french for terrorist attacks, and since 9/11, they have been responsible for all of them. Not only will they not cut funding to the Syrian "rebels," they will probably increase funding ... they'll say the attack proves they need to ensure the "moderates" are better equipped. And people will solemnly nod and say that sounds like it makes sense.GoranZ wrote:betiko it turns out that the attackers were fighting in Syria against Bashar al-Assad... Said Kouachi (34), Cherif Kouachi (32), both from Paris and Hamyd Mourad (18) from Reims. Kouachi brothers returned from Syria this summer.betiko wrote:Where have you read that? Carry on then, let them attack your country, let them kill who ever they want. Political cartoonists are modern day bouffons that just laugh about anything and are the reflect of the freedom of speach. Killing them was a big mistake, they will become even more legends and more people are just going to do more cartoons to make a point.
Or 2-3 times... just to be sure.saxitoxin wrote:If something 10x worse than Charlie Hebdo happens in 2017, Le Pen makes it to the second ballot to challenge a sitting president who is polling at 12%. And since Le Pen is committed to pulling France out of the Middle East, ISIS has every incentive to make sure something happens in metropolitan France in 2017.

Of course, saying that is cheap moral talk. You're not the one dealing with the consequences of mistakes made by your government, so it alwayyss seems better to "do something" rather than do nothing.betiko wrote:Where have you read that? And sorry to contradict your poorly informed scenarios saxi... But what are the chances to see Hollande representing the socialists in 2017? No one in his party wants him again, many people in his past governments that were socialist have strongly criticized his politics. Hollande has beaten the world record of the most unpopular french president ever. Valls, the socialist prime minister is way more popular and has much more chances than Hollande.
On the right wing, Sarkozy is rebuilding his force and will try to take many votes from the FN. In the center right you have the ex prime minister Juppé who can do real good. You just don t understand the hatred in france for the FN. ANY political party would make a coalition against them. Even Sarkozy with the communists.
Basically the FN has a maximum of 30% of voters they can seduce. Those are people jump voting, either old people, blue collars that are uneducated and vote communist, fachist and any nonesense, then you have all those traditional french catholics with a broom in their ass that are so ashamed we now have gay marriage and all these stuff.
Let s not forget that russia is financing the FN and that russian media are starting the brainwash regarding marine Le Pen being the most likely next president. Just not gonna happen. And more terrorist attacks are not going to bring an unprepared neo fascist in power either.

I guess that s why we didn t get any name in france yesterday by the media... All that was said was something about an appartment in the 19th in paris where the operation started, and something in the city of Reims and something in the city of Charleville Mezière. Didn t hear anything about 2 brothers or names yet...saxitoxin wrote:So "one suspect surrendered after seeing his name mentioned on social media ..." --- I assume this isn't really the guy then?
After shooting up an office building in an attack with a sophisticated enough getaway that they use two cars, he then calmly goes back to his apartment, has a leisurely lunch, logs onto Tinder to see if he can set-up a date tonight, sees his own name on an alert, "sacrebleu!", and immediately surrenders to a passing gendarme?
I'm guessing the guys who are really responsible are probably in Spain by now and will be on the ferry to Morocco by the time the police clear it up.
This escape brought to you by the Schengen Area. It's not just for drug runners anymore!
