I don't know about how it is now, but when I stopped playing about a year ago the community and site seemed to be improving (although the numbers were still dropping). People were complaining about having 13,000 members then.
I can't speak for everyone, but I actually quite like the community on CC and I enjoyed contributing to it. I enjoyed creating and running tournaments despite them being tedious, I tried to run a clan for a while (that failed for the most part), and I even worked with Gilligan to choose the new colours on the map when games went from a max of 8 to 12 players right before I left. I was never really that great at playing the actual games, but I still enjoyed them. The main reason I did eventually stop was due to being busy in real life and just being burnt out of the site. I realized that while I enjoyed the community and contributing to the community, playing the games were becoming more and more of a chore; they were not nearly as fun as they had been.
So, I figured that I could find another good community somewhere that I didn't have to pay $25 a year to be a member of while doing a bunch of chores at the same time. And I was right. I enjoy RISK (that's right, I used that word), but it does get old for me after a while, especially when you are paying $25 for it.
Long story short: CC is a great community but it is too expensive, and the games themselves can get old after a while. There are other communities out there that are better (or comparable), are less expensive, and less tedious to contribute to.

don't forget, i am in utero right now in preparation of my glorious return!!! and yes, the numbers continue do decline, i think the next big step is cleaning up the create a games page. the page for new players should essentially be almost the same as the BOTS game page... limit those options until a user hits a certain rank or number of games...-Jésus noirBoganGod wrote:The black dead god, competing with gold fish in concentration skills once again.owenshooter wrote:i'm sorry, i tried to read your post, but was distracted by your half page signature...-Jésus noirAdamKeith wrote:MY SIG IS REALLY BIG!!!!

if you look back at your CC graphs and charts and decline-o-meters, the black jesus was not present when the spirit was shaken from this place by the Great Simian and his Thugs... the black jesus was minding his own biz, playing games and not in the forums... the forum goers from that period have all just about vanished... their Pro-CC only posting was supposed to create a new dawn/era for the CC forums... instead, it signaled the death blow... Great job EX TEAM CC, and thanks for trying to lay the blame on me Lil' Nuts Stalling-Jésus noirBigBallinStalin wrote:You're a degenerate who has contributed to the decline of CC.owenshooter wrote:don't forget, i am in utero right now in preparation of my glorious return!!! and yes, the numbers continue do decline, i think the next big step is cleaning up the create a games page. the page for new players should essentially be almost the same as the BOTS game page... limit those options until a user hits a certain rank or number of games...-Jésus noirBoganGod wrote:The black dead god, competing with gold fish in concentration skills once again.owenshooter wrote:i'm sorry, i tried to read your post, but was distracted by your half page signature...-Jésus noirAdamKeith wrote:MY SIG IS REALLY BIG!!!!

I've cracked the mainframe months ago by ignoring him. The value of the forum has increased dramatically.AndyDufresne wrote:BBS, you can't get through owen's doublespeak.
