Greetings, comrades, and welcome to the 125th running of the Conquer Club Dispatch!
This issue is somewhat brief, so I've decided to stick everything in a single section! Please enjoy!
In this issue:
- The second of three major announcements about our Facebook presence. You know the first announcement was on Sept. 6th when tzor took over as BorgFacebook Co-ordinator. The second big announcement came today, Oct. 2nd. Six years worth of premium prizes, and all you have to do is share us on Facebook! (The full announcement is reproduced below.) What is the third, you ask? Well, stay tuned -- it will be coming in another week or so!
- The biggest event in the history of Conquer Club, the Great War event, was launched on Sept. 17th, and I already told you a bit about it in Issue 124. I have a follow-up article in this issue, and I'll give you some updates.
- The SIXTH installment in dakky21's Guess the Map contest is out. Also, an announcement of who won the single-issue prizes for the first five installments!
- JamesKer1 is back with his monthly look at hot topics in the Suggestions forum.
- iAmCaffeine has once again produced the list of who won community-based tournaments over the past month!
- There are tons of spaces left in Conquer Cup VIII. There is just sooo much happening on Conquer Club these days that it's easy for old favourites like that to get overlooked. This is still one of the highest-paying online tournaments anywhere, with $650 in Amazon gift cards up for grabs!
- As announced last time, the Conquer Club Store has replaced the old Purchase menu. There are many more options than there used to be: 1-month and 3-month memberships, speed game packs (for those who don't want to go full premium but do want to play a few speed games) and packages of stars (if there's some tournament that you just have to join but don't have enough stars for!
- The first MAJOR TOURNAMENT of TPA Season 5 is open for sign-ups! Remember, all Major tournaments count towards your score in the TPA, so if you miss one you are losing out on HUGE potential points.

6 Years worth of premium prizes to be won
You heard me right, 6 YEARS
Every month for the next 6 months we are giving one lucky user a FREE 1 Year premium membership
Is there a catch? Maybe... To be eligible all you have to do is share our facebook posts on your own facebook wall. For every post that you share that month you will score 1 ticket in the draw, the more tickets you have the greater your chance to win. On the last day of each month I will randomly select 1 ticket and that user will win 1 years membership.

Already there have been 10 Battle Scenario Auto-tournaments launched since the beginning of this event. Five of those are no longer available. Each Battle Scenario comes up for a limited time (about a week) and then is retired forever. It's important to join them as soon as you can!
There's still a bit of confusion about these autotourneys and the tokens required to enter them, so here's a quick primer:
First, get tokens. Tokens are randomly dropped at the beginning of games on qualifying maps. These maps are listed in this post. They will change from time to time. We will always give you plenty of notice when a change is coming.
Once earned, entry tokens sit in your inventory until spent. They look like this:

Once you have entry tokens, use them to enter the Battle Scenario Auto-tournaments, which will appear at the top of your My Games page in the promo box at the top labelled "Great War."
Everything else you need to know is in the main post introducing the Great War:The Great War
Closely related to the Great War main events, are side events, some of which will be non-combative in nature. The first of these was launched on Sept 30th and asks you to get creative with writing Declarations of War. I've always wanted to write one of those! Too bad -- I'm a judge in this contest, so I can't participate -- but YOU can!
Just check the current declaration at the bottom of the list, and think creatively about who's chestnuts they wanted to put in the fire, and throw some clever words together!

The latest scenario to go live was the Battle of Liege. Tomorrow, the first freemium-friendly scenario, Mulhouse-Lorraine, will go live @ CC Time: 2014-10-03 15:00:00DoomYoshi wrote:Welcome to the largest event in the history of Conquer Club.
This event will last from now until November 11, 2018. We will try to recreate, using tournaments and sub-events, the entire history of World War I.
This event is dynamic! The rules now may not be the rules in 2018. New features will be added, unpopular features will be dropped.
The general flowchart is:
tokens -> auto-tournaments -> prizes and medals
medals -> scoreboard -> bigger prizes
For the next few weeks, we are playing "Catch-Up" trying to get on track, so there can be a 100 year gap between battle and tournament. After this initial period, the game load will drop substantially!

There will be 10 rounds with 9 images each, for a maximum score of 90. The images will gradually become more difficult as the issues move on.
- You must PM your answers to dakky21. Please do not answer by posting in the thread or PMing to anyone else. Only answers sent to dakky21 will be official.
- Answers to each issue's quiz must be sent within ten days after the actual publication date.
- Minor typos will be overlooked. If you mean "Jamaica" and you type "Jamiaca" that's fine. HOWEVER, we are not finishing your thought for you: there is both a Baltic States and a Baltic Crusades. If you just type "Baltic" that is a WRONG answer, because it would require us to finish the thought and decide between Crusades and States.
- Points will be cumulative over the 10 issues.
- Depending on interest, the 10th round may carry bonus images and/or bonus points.
- In case of a tie at the end of the contest, dakky21 will PM a supplementary tiebreaking list of extremely difficult images.
- Please format your answers as follows:Number dot space Name of Map
(Example:- 1. Jamaica
2. USA
3. Austerlitz
- 1. Jamaica
- First place 2000 credits
- Second place 1000 credits
- Third place 625 credits
- Top five contestants get a GA medal.
- To qualify for any of the above prizes, you must score at least 35 points over the course of the contest.
- If and only if we get 25 or more contestants, we will have a random draw for a 6th GA medal.
- If and only if we get 75 or more contestants, the top player will get a Challenge Medal in addition to other prizes.
Editor's note: we got the 75 in our first installment! - Every issue the top contestant will get one or more Conquer Stars. Just like everything else about the stars, this is shrouded in mystery, so there's no telling what kind of star you will get! Drab? Auburn? Pink? A box of 50 Auburns? Wouldn't you like to know? This star prize can only be won once, so if you win it in week 1 and you are the top contestant in week 2 again, the prize in week 2 will go to the second place contestant, and so on down the list.

Because of a small lull in activity last month, we are very sorry we were not able to get an issue out. However, we are back to normal levels, and can continue featuring more of your awesome ideas!
Notepad for Every Member (2014)- While there are alternatives to completing this suggestion per user, willedtowin1 brings up a nice and convenient idea about creating a note space for every member that is stored on the website instead of at home or elsewhere, where one may not have access all the time.
Unlimited Wait List For Freemiums (2014)- As suggested by degaston, this new policy would allow freemiums more "premium" like option for their waiting games by removing the limit until they fill up their 4 active game slots.
Time Extension in Speed Games (2014)- A unique idea suggested by lykoz that allows measures to safeguard against running out of time in speed games, especially when running more than one at a time.
