in general, to the average joe; climate change/global warming and if it's because of humanity or if it's natural or where on the scale people are.Metsfanmax wrote:How are you defining "Global Warming?"
I'm on a Hans Zimmer tip today, so today it's all Zimmer clips. Be happy you even made my sig tho, I rarely quote people, and when I do, they are always good quotes, never underhanded cheap shots or gotchyas. My version of saxbucks I guess.Dukasaur wrote:You took me out of your signature? And I was feeling so warm and fuzzy about that!
I think that is encompassed by "It's likely (man is causing it)" or 'I totally believe it (mankind is causing it)' which depends on how strongly you feel that the topic is caused by mankind, not neccessarily at what rate tho.Royal Panda wrote:There's no option "Man is accelerating the natural process", so I haven't voted.
Interesting point. What is the reason I should probably call it climate change instead of global warming?notyou2 wrote:Your title should probably call it climate change, not global warming.
Cuz global warming is so 90s-ish, just like global cooling is so 70s-ish; we've moved on to a new century and have new fads and bandwagons now, even in climate "science"! Besides, if we call it climate change, it then becomes undeniable because the climate is always changing! So no matter if it gets hot or cold, we can blame it all on the same thing!Phatscotty wrote:Interesting point. The two are separate concepts, and if you are truly talking about Global Warming, then your title is accurate. If you are talking about Climate Change (which, really, most people are when they talk about Global Warming), then that's a larger concept in general.Phatscotty wrote:Interesting point. lol I think I'm just in an argumentative mood.rdsrds2120 wrote:RayRider is saying things, but I don't think he read it before he posted. Or maybe he did. That's scarier.

Al Gore's carbon footprint is essentially zero. His personal home is zero-carbon and he purchases offsets for all of the travel that requires him to burn fossil fuels. So why is he a hypocrite? I'd say he did put his money where his mouth is.Ray Rider wrote:But at the moment, there's far too many Al Gore-type hypocrites for people like me to take their cause seriously.
Here in Ontario, we have much the same experience. This winter has broken or equalled many records. Overall it was the coldest winter in almost 50 years. We had the coldest February ever, almost double the average amount of snowfall, set a new record for number of consecutive days with snow on the ground, on and on and on and on. By every measurement possible this has been an unusually cold and tough winter.DaGip wrote:Yet, it's been the coldest EVER in South Dakota and similarly other states. I think the "Warming" part of Global is flawed.

Yeah It's categorized terribly.Royal Panda wrote:There's no option "Man is accelerating the natural process", so I haven't voted.
again, its about how much if at all people think man is the cause or not. You are trying to jump past the results of this poll to ask the next question...'since man IS/ISN'T, then at what rate"trevor33 wrote:Yeah It's categorized terribly.Royal Panda wrote:There's no option "Man is accelerating the natural process", so I haven't voted.
